- Hedera has integrated Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on its mainnet, enabling seamless communication with over 46 other blockchains and strengthening its DeFi and real-world asset tokenization capabilities.
- This move builds on Hedera’s ongoing partnership with Chainlink, bringing secure, scalable cross-chain functionality to developers through tools like the Cross-Chain Token standard and Token Manager.
Hedera is leveling up its blockchain capabilities with the official integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on its mainnet—a move that could redefine how decentralized applications interact across different networks.
Unlocking Cross-Chain Potential
With CCIP now live on Hedera, developers can easily build decentralized applications (dApps) that communicate seamlessly with more than 46 other blockchains. More chains are set to be added, making Hedera a far more connected ecosystem than before. This leap means smoother token and data transfers, stronger decentralized finance (DeFi) capabilities, and a serious boost to the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization movement.
One standout feature of CCIP is the Cross-Chain Token (CCT) standard, which simplifies the process of creating and managing tokens across multiple blockchains. Using Chainlink’s Token Manager, developers maintain full control of their tokens while enabling interoperability—a feature that could spark a new wave of innovation.
Strengthening Hedera’s DeFi and Tokenization Ecosystem
The integration marks a significant step forward in Hedera’s long-standing partnership with Chainlink. In 2023, the HBAR Foundation joined Chainlink’s SCALE program, giving Hedera developers access to high-value tools like Data Feeds and Proof of Reserve. Now, with CCIP in the mix, the toolkit just got even more powerful.
Greg Scullard of Hedera emphasized the importance of secure blockchain interoperability, calling CCIP a “game-changing standard.” Meanwhile, Chainlink Labs’ Thodoris Karakostas highlighted the role of CCIP in driving adoption and enhancing Hedera’s presence in both DeFi and RWA sectors.
Proven, Secure, and Future-Ready
Chainlink’s CCIP is not just another cross-chain protocol. It’s built on the same infrastructure that has already secured over $75 billion in DeFi activity and facilitated more than $20 trillion in on-chain transactions. Known for its uptime reliability and forward-compatible design, CCIP brings a level of trust and robustness that aligns perfectly with Hedera’s enterprise-grade goals.
This collaboration is more than just technical progress—it’s a strategic push that positions Hedera as a serious contender in the race for blockchain interoperability, DeFi dominance, and real-world asset tokenization.
