- Aptos faces pressure as $38M worth of tokens unlock this week, testing key support around $3.
- Analysts remain divided on whether APT will rebound or correct further.
Aptos (APT) braces for a major token unlock that could introduce fresh volatility. With approximately 11.3 million APT tokens worth around $38 million set to unlock on November 12, investors are watching closely to see whether the price structure can withstand the pressure.
Technical Picture: Holding the Line Amid Pressure
APT is currently trading near $3.3, having rebounded from a short-lived dip below key support earlier this week. The token’s price movement remains confined within a descending channel, testing the lower boundary near the $2.8–$3.0 zone — a level that has held multiple times.
The rebound from that “fakeout” breakdown suggests buyers are still active, but the overall setup remains fragile. The upcoming unlock, combined with resistance from the 200 EMA and SMA moving averages, could challenge any bullish recovery attempts.
If the $2.8 support breaks decisively, analysts warn that Aptos could experience a deeper correction. However, if this zone holds and demand absorbs the new supply, the chart may evolve into a higher low structure — signaling potential stability.
Token Unlock: A Double-Edged Event
The scheduled 11.31 million APT unlock represents about 0.96% of the total supply, a modest percentage that nonetheless adds short-term uncertainty. Historically, token unlocks have had mixed outcomes: some trigger sharp dips, while others pass with minimal price impact.
What makes this event different is the thin market liquidity and stretched technicals, raising the risk of heightened volatility. Analysts predict that aggressive selling could push APT toward the $2.80 mark, though swift absorption by buyers might lead to a quick rebound, similar to prior unlock cycles.
Looking Ahead: Can Aptos Stay Resilient?
Despite near-term selling pressure, Aptos continues to build momentum in its ecosystem. Recent partnerships, including a Chainlink integration and collaboration with NBCUniversal on Web3 fan tools, highlight the project’s push toward mainstream utility. Growing stablecoin inflows, new DeFi tools, and expanding NFT activity signal underlying strength.

Still, Aptos faces fierce competition from solana and sui, which could temper investor enthusiasm. If liquidity stabilizes post-unlock, analysts expect APT to trade between $3.30 and $3.50 by year-end.
Whether the network’s fundamentals can outweigh short-term supply shocks will determine if Aptos can defend its support or face another round of price weakness.
