Binance, one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, has announced a scheduled wallet maintenance that will affect the BNB Smart Chain on April 17, 2025. This update will briefly pause certain key functions—specifically deposits and withdrawals of BEP-20 tokens.
What to Expect During the Maintenance Window
According to Binance, the wallet maintenance will begin at 06:00 UTC, but users should be aware that deposits and withdrawals will be paused five minutes earlier at 05:55 UTC. The process is expected to take about one hour, although no specific end time has been guaranteed. Binance emphasized that deposits and withdrawals will only resume once the network is confirmed to be stable.
Importantly, trading activities for BNB and other BEP-20 tokens will not be affected during this period. Users can continue buying and selling assets on the platform without interruption.
Binance assured users that no action is required on their part, as the platform will handle all technical aspects. Still, users are advised to avoid initiating transfers shortly before or during the maintenance to avoid complications.
BNB Smart Chain Remains a Powerhouse
Despite the temporary pause, the BNB Smart Chain (formerly Binance Smart Chain) continues to demonstrate strong performance. With over $5.14 billion in total value locked (TVL) and more than 1,000,000 active addresses, it remains one of the busiest blockchain networks in the world.
The network supports over 1,500 decentralized apps (dApps), many in the DeFi space. In the past 24 hours alone, over $667 million in trading volume was recorded on decentralized exchanges, generating more than $613,000 in fees.
Stay Informed
Binance has stated it will not issue a separate notice once deposits and withdrawals resume. Therefore, users should monitor official Binance channels for real-time updates.
Meanwhile, the platform is also expanding its offerings. A new product called LDUSDT is in the pipeline, allowing users to trade crypto futures while earning extra benefits from locked USDT holdings—a strategic move that highlights Binance’s continued innovation in the space.
As always, users are encouraged to remain alert and plan ahead when interacting with blockchain networks during maintenance periods.
