- Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs lost $635 million last week.
- Ethereum ETFs recorded their fifth straight week of outflows.
U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a combined $635 million in net outflows last week, highlighting continued weakness in institutional demand for crypto investments.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $203 million during the week of October 26–30, while spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $432 million in withdrawals. Ethereum funds accounted for approximately 68% of the total outflows, extending their losing streak to five consecutive weeks.
Bitcoin ETFs Record $203 Million in Weekly Outflows
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw $203 million leave the funds between October 26 and October 30. The withdrawals suggest that institutional demand for Bitcoin exposure through regulated investment products remains under pressure.
Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) recorded the largest outflows among the funds, with $166 million withdrawn during the week. This represented approximately 82% of the total net outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs.
The withdrawals come as investors monitor Bitcoin’s price direction and broader market conditions. Continued outflows could weaken demand from ETF investors, although weekly fund movements alone do not establish the direction of future Bitcoin prices.
Ethereum ETFs Extend Outflow Streak to Five Weeks
Spot Ethereum ETFs experienced heavier withdrawals, losing $432 million over the same period. The latest figures mark the fifth consecutive week of net outflows from U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs.
The prolonged streak raises questions about when institutional demand for Ethereum exposure might recover. With withdrawals continuing for more than a month, Ethereum funds are facing sustained pressure from investors reducing their exposure.
Ethereum’s outflows also exceeded those recorded by Bitcoin ETFs, suggesting that investors were pulling more capital from Ethereum investment products during the period.
However, the figures reflect net flows into and out of ETF products rather than total investor activity across the Ethereum market. They do not, on their own, establish whether investors are abandoning Ethereum or moving their capital into other investment vehicles.
Ethereum Accounts for 68% of Combined ETF Outflows
Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs recorded $635 million in combined net outflows last week. Ethereum accounted for approximately 68% of that amount, making it the larger contributor to the withdrawals.
The difference highlights the greater pressure facing Ethereum investment products. While Bitcoin ETFs also experienced outflows, Ethereum funds recorded more than twice as much in net withdrawals.
If the trend continues, both asset classes could face additional headwinds as investors wait for clearer market signals. A return to sustained ETF inflows would provide a stronger indication that demand through these investment products is recovering.
What the ETF Outflows Mean for Bitcoin and Ethereum
Persistent ETF outflows can indicate weaker demand for regulated crypto investment products and may reduce an important source of buying pressure. However, their effect on cryptocurrency prices depends on other factors, including trading activity, market liquidity and demand from investors outside ETFs.
For Bitcoin, the $203 million in weekly withdrawals points to continued caution among ETF investors. For Ethereum, the five-week outflow streak makes a sustained recovery in fund demand an important development to watch.
The latest figures also show why ETF flows remain a key indicator of institutional interest in the cryptocurrency market. Although one week’s withdrawals cannot determine the next price move, continued outflows could weigh on market sentiment if they persist.
For now, the focus is on whether Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs begin attracting fresh capital or continue losing assets in the coming weeks. A sustained return to net inflows would signal improving demand, while further withdrawals could prolong the pressure on the broader crypto market.
