U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $2.65 billion in net inflows in September, marking their second-highest monthly inflow since October 2025. The strong demand comes as Bitcoin enters the final quarter of 2026 with renewed investor interest.

Bitcoin ETF Inflows Remain Strong

According to SoSoValue data, September’s $2.65 billion inflow was below the $3.52 billion recorded in August, but it still ranked among the strongest monthly totals of the past year.

The latest figures suggest that demand for regulated Bitcoin investment products has remained strong despite the slowdown from August.

Ethereum ETFs Also See Large Inflows

Bitcoin was not the only major cryptocurrency to attract institutional money. U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $832.43 million in net inflows in September, down from $1.85 billion in August. Despite the monthly decline, September still represented the second-largest monthly inflow since Ethereum ETFs launched in August 2025.

The figures show that investor interest extended beyond Bitcoin, although Bitcoin ETFs attracted significantly more capital during the month.

Institutional Demand Remains a Key Focus

Dominick John, an analyst at Zeus Research, said the continued ETF inflows indicate that institutional demand for Bitcoin “has not faded.” He said sustained inflows could point to a more durable market recovery.

Bitcoin’s price also strengthened alongside the ETF activity. At the time reported, BTC had risen 3.1% over 24 hours to $86,626, while Ethereum gained 1% to $2,735.

The Crypto Fear & Greed Index stood at 69, placing market sentiment in the greed zone. John noted that sentiment had improved without reaching extreme levels.

October ETF Flows and Economic Data in Focus

The positive ETF trend continued into October’s first trading session. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $102.7 million in net inflows, while spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $55.4 million in outflows.

Investors will now be watching whether Bitcoin ETF inflows remain consistent through the fourth quarter.

Economic data could also influence crypto markets. John pointed to the October 8 U.S. jobless claims report, along with upcoming inflation data and Federal Reserve commentary, as factors that could affect expectations for interest rates.

For Bitcoin, continued ETF inflows will remain an important indicator of whether institutional demand is holding up as the market moves deeper into the final quarter of 2026.
