Bitcoin ETFs Extend Inflows as Ether Faces Outflows This Week

  • Bitcoin ETFs extended a four-week streak of inflows despite late-week outflows, showing continued institutional interest.
  • Ether ETFs faced consistent outflows, while Solana and XRP ETFs posted modest gains.

Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) continued to attract investor interest this week, extending a four-week streak of inflows even as late-week selling applied pressure. Ether ETFs, by contrast, struggled, while Solana and XRP ETFs showed modest gains.

Bitcoin ETFs Maintain Institutional Appeal

Bitcoin ETFs closed the week with net inflows of $95.18 million, highlighting sustained institutional interest. The figure, however, masks uneven activity. Sharp outflows on Wednesday ($163 million) and Thursday ($90 million) interrupted what had been a steady climb for these products.

Major ETFs such as BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s FBTC became the main drivers of outflows in the latter half of the week. Other funds, including Bitwise’s BITB, Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB, and Grayscale’s GBTC, also recorded notable redemptions.

Bitcoin ETFs managed to end the week in the green despite three days of outflows, with week-on-week inflows crossing $2.2 billion.

Smaller products, like Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust, Franklin’s EZBC, and Valkyrie’s BRRR, still saw modest inflows, suggesting selective positioning rather than a broad retreat from the market.

Ether ETFs Face Persistent Outflows

Ether ETFs recorded net outflows of $59.94 million over the week, reflecting consistent selling pressure. BlackRock’s ETHA led the declines, with a single-day loss exceeding $100 million.

Other ETFs, including Fidelity’s FETH, Grayscale’s ETHE, its Mini Trust, Vaneck’s ETHV, Bitwise’s ETHW, 21Shares’ TETH, and Invesco’s QETH, all contributed to negative flows. The exception was BlackRock’s ETHB, which maintained steady inflows and provided some stability for investors.

Solana and XRP Show Modest Growth

Smaller ETFs recorded positive, if limited, inflows. Solana ETFs brought in $21.10 million, led by Franklin’s SOEZ, indicating steady demand. XRP ETFs also remained positive, recording $0.64 million in net inflows despite periods of no trading activity.

These trends suggest that while Bitcoin commands the majority of institutional attention, smaller assets like Solana and XRP are quietly gaining traction.

Market Rotation and Investor Selectivity

Analysts note that the split between bitcoin and ether ETFs highlights a market in rotation. Investors are not exiting crypto ETFs entirely, but they are becoming more selective. Bitcoin continues to lead in institutional demand, Ether struggles to maintain interest, and smaller assets are carving out their own niches.

The week reflects a cautious optimism: inflows persist, but careful positioning signals that investors are paying close attention to the evolving market landscape.
