Bitcoin Price Faces $60K Risk as October Bottom Looms

  • Bitcoin is holding near $63,000 as traders watch key support and resistance levels for its next move.
  • Weak Bitcoin ETF flows and the four-year cycle have raised speculation about a possible October 2026 bottom.

Bitcoin is trading near $63,000 as traders watch for a possible market bottom in October 2026. BTC remains stuck below key resistance, while weak ETF flows add pressure to the outlook.

With Bitcoin holding above $60,000, traders are now watching whether the current consolidation leads to another drop or sets the stage for a broader recovery.

Bitcoin Price Holds Near $63,000

Bitcoin traded near $63,000 over the weekend, extending its August consolidation. BTC reached about $65,300 earlier this month but has since failed to hold above the $65,000 level.

BTC dropped 2.7% last week as trading volumes weakened and buyers remained cautious. The decline leaves Bitcoin roughly 50% below its $126,080 all-time high, recorded in October 2025.

The immediate battle is now around $60,000 to $66,000. A break above $66,000 could shift attention toward $69,000, while losing $60,000 would expose the $57,000 to $55,000 range.

Key Bitcoin price levels:

  • Current price: Around $63,000
  • Resistance: $65,000–$66,000
  • Support: $60,000–$62,300
  • Next downside target: $55,000–$57,000
  • All-time high: $126,080

Bitcoin Chart Points to a Larger Move

Bitcoin’s daily chart is showing a falling wedge, with BTC consolidating around $63,500 after several failed attempts to push higher. The tightening Bollinger Bands also point to a period of reduced volatility as Bitcoin trades within a narrowing range.

The next major test is the $65,000 to $66,000 resistance zone. If BTC closes above $66,000 on the daily chart, buyers could target $69,000 to $72,000 next. A stronger breakout would bring the $75,000 to $80,000 region back into focus.

The downside remains important as well. Bitcoin’s structure would weaken if BTC falls below $60,000, potentially sending the price toward the $57,000 to $55,000 support area.

Could Bitcoin Bottom in October 2026?

Some traders are using Bitcoin’s four-year cycle to predict a possible market bottom.

Previous cycles have shown long bull phases followed by periods of decline. Based on this pattern, some traders expect the current bearish phase to end before October closes.

This has led to speculation about a potential bottom between October 6 and October 16. However, the four-year cycle does not provide a guaranteed date. Bitcoin has gone through only a limited number of major cycles.

Market conditions are also different from previous periods. ETF demand, regulation, interest rates and macroeconomic conditions can all change the cycle. For that reason, October should be viewed as a possible window rather than a fixed Bitcoin bottom.

Bitcoin ETFs Show Weaker Demand

Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw roughly $390 million in net outflows between August 10 and 14, adding another sign of weaker institutional demand during Bitcoin’s August consolidation.

Fidelity’s FBTC recorded the largest outflow among the funds, with about $153 million withdrawn during the week. The broader decline in ETF demand comes as BTC struggles to move beyond the $65,000 area.

The outflows do not necessarily point to a major Bitcoin sell-off. However, continued withdrawals could make it harder for BTC to sustain a recovery, especially while price remains below key resistance.

A shift back to strong ETF inflows would give buyers a stronger signal that institutional demand is returning. For now, the flow data remains a headwind as Bitcoin trades near $63,000.

What Could Happen to Bitcoin Next?

Bitcoin is approaching a key technical test after weeks of range-bound trading. A daily close above $66,000 would strengthen the recovery setup and could shift attention toward $69,000 to $72,000.

BTC/USD PRICE CHART FOR 24 HOURS PERIOD

The downside remains equally important. If BTC breaks below $60,000, selling pressure could increase and expose the $57,000 to $55,000 support range.

ETF flows will also remain a key market signal. A return of strong inflows could provide fresh support for BTC, while continued outflows may keep buyers on the sidelines.

Beyond the charts, Federal Reserve rate decisions and broader risk sentiment could influence Bitcoin’s next move. Changes in expectations for interest rates can quickly affect demand for risk assets, including BTC.

Bitcoin Price Prediction: Is October the Bottom?

Bitcoin’s short-term outlook remains mixed. BTC needs to clear $66,000 before the bullish case becomes stronger. A break below $60,000 would instead increase the risk of another decline.

The October 2026 bottom theory is worth watching, but traders should not rely on the calendar alone. Bitcoin’s price action and market flows will provide stronger confirmation.

For now, BTC remains trapped between major support and resistance. The next decisive breakout could determine whether October becomes a cycle-bottom period or another stage of the correction.
