Bitcoin Spot ETFs See $266 Million Inflows as BlackRock Leads Institutional Buying

  • Bitcoin spot ETFs attracted $266 million in inflows, led by BlackRock’s $209 million investment.
  • Bitcoin continues to draw strong institutional demand while Ethereum trails with smaller inflows.

Bitcoin attracted fresh institutional demand on July 6 after spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded strong inflows, highlighting continued confidence from major investors. BlackRock accounted for most of the day’s investment, reinforcing its growing influence in the digital asset market.

The latest figures come as Bitcoin continues to trade near important price levels, while Ethereum struggles to attract the same level of investor interest.

BlackRock Drives Strong Bitcoin ETF Inflows

Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a combined net inflow of $266 million on July 6. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) led the market with $209 million, making it the largest single-day contributor among all spot Bitcoin ETFs.

According to SoSoValue data, on July 6 (Eastern Time), Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a total net inflow of USD 266 million, with BlackRock’s IBIT posting the largest single-day net inflow at USD 209 million. The data reflects continued institutional demand for Bitcoin through regulated investment products. Instead of buying and storing Bitcoin directly, many large investors are choosing spot ETFs because they offer easier access through traditional financial markets.

The steady flow of capital into these funds suggests that institutional investors remain confident despite recent market volatility.

Bitcoin Holds Firm While Ethereum Lags Behind

Bitcoin has continued to trade near key support and resistance levels, helping maintain investor confidence. Its ability to remain relatively stable has encouraged fresh capital to enter the market through ETFs.

Ethereum also recorded positive flows, but they were much smaller. Spot Ethereum ETFs attracted $29 million in net inflows during the same period.

The difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum highlights a growing gap in investor preference. While Bitcoin continues to attract institutional capital, Ethereum has yet to generate similar demand, even as many traders expected stronger interest in altcoins.

Why Institutional Demand Matters

Large institutional investments often have a greater market impact than retail trading. Continued ETF inflows can increase demand for Bitcoin while reducing the amount of available supply, creating conditions that may support price stability over time.

Institutional participation also strengthens confidence in the broader cryptocurrency market. As more financial firms allocate capital through regulated investment products, Bitcoin continues to gain recognition as an established investment asset.

BlackRock’s dominant contribution during the latest trading session reinforces the role major asset managers now play in shaping crypto market trends.

What Investors Are Watching Next

Market participants are now monitoring whether ETF inflows will remain strong in the coming weeks. Consistent institutional buying could provide additional support for Bitcoin if broader market conditions remain favorable.

At the same time, traders will be watching Ethereum for signs of renewed investor interest. If the current gap between Bitcoin and Ethereum continues, investment strategies across the crypto market could shift further toward Bitcoin.

For now, the latest ETF data shows institutional investors continue to favor Bitcoin, a trend that could play an important role in shaping market performance during the months ahead.
