BitMine has added another 32,447 ETH to its growing Ethereum holdings. The purchase comes as ETH rises, while BitMine founder Tom Lee says the recent increase was expected.
BitMine Expands Its Ethereum Holdings
BitMine has continued its aggressive Ethereum accumulation with the latest purchase of 32,447 ETH. The acquisition brings the company’s total Ethereum holdings to 5,847,611 ETH.
BitMine provided its latest holdings update for August 24, 2026
$14.9 billion in total crypto + "moonshots":
– 5,847,611 ETH at $2,440 per ETH per ETH (per @coinbase)
– 210 Bitcoin (BTC)
– $180 million stake in Beast Industries @MrBeast
– $89 million stake in Eightco Holdings…— Bitmine (NYSE-BMNR) $ETH $BMNP (@BitMNR) August 24, 2026
The company’s broader portfolio has also grown to $14.9 billion. This figure includes cryptocurrencies, cash, negotiable securities and other assets.
The latest purchase further increases BitMine’s exposure to Ethereum. However, the company has not disclosed the price paid for the 32,447 ETH.
The size of the purchase still stands out. It shows that BitMine remains focused on building its Ethereum position as ETH gains attention across the market.
More Than 5 Million ETH Is Staked
BitMine is also putting a large part of its Ethereum holdings to work through staking. As of August 23, around 5.07 million ETH from its holdings were staked. The staked ETH was worth about $12.7 billion at the time.
Staking allows BitMine to earn rewards from the Ethereum network. It also means the company is not simply holding its ETH without seeking additional returns.
The strategy highlights the scale of BitMine’s Ethereum exposure. A large portion of its holdings is now tied to the network through staking.
Tom Lee Says Ethereum’s Rise Was Expected
BitMine’s latest purchase comes as Ethereum continues to move higher. Tom Lee believes the rise should not come as a surprise.
According to Lee, Ethereum has benefited from stronger sector fundamentals and growing interest in tokenization on Wall Street. He also pointed to artificial intelligence and increased support for crypto from Washington. Lee also linked the market’s stronger risk appetite to long-term U.S. Treasury bond purchases.
His comments provide a broader explanation for Ethereum’s recent performance. However, Lee did not give a new ETH price target in the available information. He also did not specify how long he expects the current rise to continue.
BitMine Keeps Ethereum in Focus
The latest 32,447 ETH purchase gives BitMine an even larger position in Ethereum. Its holdings now stand at more than 5.84 million ETH.
At the same time, Tom Lee’s comments suggest that the company sees several factors supporting Ethereum’s recent rise. These include tokenization, artificial intelligence and a more supportive regulatory environment.
Still, the purchase alone does not confirm where ETH could trade next. The company has not revealed its purchase price, while Lee has not provided a specific price forecast.
For now, BitMine’s continued accumulation remains the key development. Its latest purchase shows that the company is maintaining its long-term focus on Ethereum as the market continues to watch ETH’s next move.
