BitMine’s $10B Ethereum Bet Ahead of NYSE Listing Fuels Supply Squeeze Hopes

BitMine is stepping into the spotlight as it prepares for its listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The company’s heavy exposure to Ethereum is raising both excitement and caution across the market.

With billions locked into ETH and supply tightening, the firm’s strategy is being closely watched.

BitMine Builds Around a Massive Ethereum Position

BitMine is heading to the New York Stock Exchange with a balance sheet strongly centered on Ethereum.

As of April 6, the company held $11.4 billion in total assets. A large portion came from 4.8 million ETH, valued at about $10.2 billion. This makes Ethereum the core of BitMine’s strategy.

The firm also holds smaller positions in Bitcoin, cash reserves, and investments such as Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings. However, these play a minor role compared to their ETH exposure.

The planned listing on April 9 is expected to test investor confidence in this Ethereum-focused approach.

Ethereum Supply Tightens as Staking Hits Record Levels

The timing of BitMine’s move is not random. It comes as Ethereum’s available supply continues to shrink.

Exchange reserves have dropped, meaning less ETH is available for trading. At the same time, staking has reached a record 38.8 million ETH.

This shift matters. When more tokens are locked in staking, fewer are available for selling. If demand remains steady, this can support price growth.

The setup creates a potential supply squeeze. BitMine’s large position appears to be built around this exact idea.

Price Action Shows Progress but Lacks Strength

Ethereum’s price has shown some positive signs, but it is not fully convincing yet.

The asset has been holding near $2,100 after failing to break above $2,300 in March. Higher lows have formed, which suggests gradual improvement. However, the pace remains slow.

Technical indicators reflect this mixed outlook. The Relative Strength Index remains neutral, while capital inflows are still weak.

At the same time, open interest has climbed toward $12.5 billion. This shows that new positions are entering the market. Funding rates also suggest that buyers are gaining control.

Still, there is a risk. If price growth slows further, traders who entered late could face losses.

A High-Conviction Bet with Clear Risks

BitMine’s strategy is simple but bold. The company is betting that reduced supply and strong staking demand will push Ethereum higher over time.

If the supply squeeze plays out, the firm could benefit significantly. However, if demand weakens, the heavy exposure could become a risk.

As the NYSE listing approaches, the market will be watching closely. BitMine is not just listing a company—it is presenting a strong belief in Ethereum’s future.
