Bitwise Launches First Spot NEAR ETF as NEAR Price Rebounds From $4.50

Bitwise has launched the first spot NEAR ETF in the United States, giving traditional investors direct exposure to NEAR Protocol through the NYSE Arca. The move comes as NEAR records strong network growth, although recent profit-taking has triggered a sharp short-term price pullback.

Bitwise Launches First NEAR ETF on NYSE Arca

Bitwise has launched the first spot NEAR ETF in the US, marking a major development for NEAR Protocol and its investors. The ETF trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker NRR. It is designed to provide investors with exposure to NEAR Protocol without requiring them to hold the cryptocurrency directly.

The product also includes a staking component. This means investors can potentially gain exposure to staking rewards alongside NEAR’s price performance.

Bitwise said the ETF gives investors exposure to the emerging agentic economy, an area that NEAR Protocol has increasingly focused on.

The launch also gives NEAR another route into traditional financial markets. Investors who prefer regulated investment products can now gain exposure to NEAR through a familiar exchange-traded structure.

NEAR Price Drops 10% After September Rally

The ETF launch comes after a sharp rally in NEAR’s price. NEAR reached a September high of $5.57 on Sunday, marking a 206% increase from its lowest level of the month.

The strong rally pushed the token into overbought territory and increased the risk of a short-term correction.

That correction arrived on Monday, when NEAR fell by roughly 10% from its opening to closing price. The sell-off was accompanied by significant spot outflows. NEAR recorded approximately $28.9 million in net spot outflows on Monday, its largest daily outflow in more than a year.

The heavy outflows suggest that some investors were taking profits after NEAR’s rapid September advance. However, the token showed signs of recovery after falling to around $4.50 on Tuesday morning. NEAR later climbed back toward $5.06, suggesting that the ETF announcement may have received a positive reaction from the market.

NEAR Network Activity Continues to Grow

NEAR’s recent rally was not driven by price momentum alone. The network has also recorded significant growth in key activity metrics. NEAR Protocol’s total value locked (TVL) increased from around $170 million in August to $371 million, according to the latest data cited in the source article.

The increase places NEAR’s TVL near historic highs and points to stronger activity across the network. Network fees have also increased. NEAR Protocol generated more than $6.75 million in fees in September 2026. That figure is more than double the fees recorded in May, which was the weakest month for fees so far this year.

September also became the network’s second-highest fee-generating month, behind November 2025, when NEAR collected approximately $67.8 million in network fees. The growth in fees and TVL provides additional context for NEAR’s strong price performance in September.

What the NEAR ETF Means for Investors

The launch of Bitwise’s spot NEAR ETF creates a new channel for traditional investors to gain exposure to the cryptocurrency.

Instead of buying and holding NEAR directly, investors can use the ETF to obtain exposure through a regulated exchange-traded product. The inclusion of staking rewards also adds another feature to the investment structure.

The launch does not guarantee that NEAR’s price will continue rising, however.

NEAR has already experienced a substantial rally, followed by a sharp correction and large spot outflows. Further profit-taking could therefore create additional short-term volatility.

At the same time, rising TVL, higher network fees and the arrival of a spot ETF highlight the growing attention around the NEAR ecosystem.

For NEAR, the key question now is whether stronger network activity and new institutional access can support demand after its major September rally.
