Cardano Dormant Wallets Signal Possible Reversal as ADA Holds $0.16 Level

CARDANO IMAGE AND SOME COINS IN THE BACKGROUND

Cardano (ADA) is showing a rare on-chain signal as dormant wallets suddenly become active after weeks of inactivity. While price action remains weak, long-term holders appear to be shifting behavior at a critical moment in the market.

ADA Price Slips as Market Pressure Builds

Cardano is currently trading at $0.16, marking a 4.02% decline in the past 24 hours as broader crypto market sentiment remains risk-off. The drop has been accompanied by weaker participation, with 24-hour trading volume falling by 18.14% to around $400 million.

This combination of falling price and declining volume suggests that buyers are not yet stepping in with conviction. As a result, ADA continues to struggle within a broader downtrend despite already showing signs of being oversold.

Dormant Wallet Activity Sends a Rare On-Chain Signal

While price remains under pressure, Cardano’s on-chain data is telling a different story beneath the surface.

Recent data from Santiment shows that the Mean Dollar Invested Age (MDIA) has been rising steadily, indicating that long-term holders are largely holding rather than moving their ADA.

At the same time, the Age Consumed metric has recorded sharp spikes over the past four to five days. In fact, it recently reached its highest level since April. This means previously inactive ADA tokens are now moving again after a long period of dormancy.

Historically, similar spikes in dormant activity have appeared near major market turning points. However, the data does not confirm whether these holders are accumulating, selling, or repositioning. It only confirms that long-term capital is now active again, which often leads to increased volatility.

Cardano Technical Outlook Shows Bearish Structure With Early Exhaustion Signs

From a technical perspective, Cardano remains in a clear downtrend after breaking below the $0.237 support level, which triggered a sharper move lower toward the $0.16 zone.

Selling pressure increased during the breakdown, supported by higher trading volume, suggesting active distribution rather than thin liquidity conditions.

Key indicators now show mixed signals:

These signals suggest that while bears still control the trend, selling pressure may be gradually weakening.

What Traders Should Watch Next

The current setup places Cardano at a critical decision point. On one side, the trend remains bearish and clearly defined. On the other hand, on-chain activity and technical indicators suggest possible seller exhaustion.

For a clearer reversal signal, traders may look for:

Without these confirmations, dormant wallet activity alone is not enough to signal a full trend reversal.

Cardano is sitting at a sensitive point where long-term holder activity is rising while price remains under pressure. The mix of dormant wallet movement and oversold technical conditions suggests a potential shift in behavior, but not yet a confirmed reversal. ADA’s next move will depend on whether buyers step in to absorb renewed activity or if distribution continues.
