Cardano Founder Pushes for Unity Between Ethereum, Solana, and Polkadot

  • Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson urges blockchain networks to focus on cooperation instead of rivalry.
  • His Midnight project aims to connect different ecosystems for shared growth and innovation.

In the rapidly evolving world of blockchain, competition between networks like Ethereum, Solana, and Polkadot often feels more like a heated sports rivalry than a space for technological progress. Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, recently broke his silence on this growing tension, urging the community to shift from tribalism toward collaboration that benefits the entire ecosystem.

Rivalry or Cooperation: A New Vision for Blockchain

Hoskinson’s response came during a lively discussion sparked by podcast host Kevin W. Smith about the increasing divisions between major blockchain projects. Hoskinson criticized how developers, investors, and even founders seem overly loyal to their tokens, often at the expense of addressing real-world problems. This tribalism, he warned, could stall the industry’s overall growth.

Sounds like the whole cooperative economics concept that Midnight is pushing. https://t.co/zb08XgdATy

Echoing this sentiment, Gavin Wood, Polkadot’s founder, highlighted that blockchain networks should function like global currencies—unique yet interoperable. According to Wood, tokens should be freely exchangeable and not locked into one system. Hoskinson agrees wholeheartedly and revealed that this idea aligns closely with Cardano’s privacy project, Midnight.

Midnight: Bridging Blockchain Ecosystems

Midnight aims to break down “echo chambers” by encouraging open communication and shared tools across different blockchain networks. The project embraces cooperative economics, promoting mutual support rather than competition. This approach hopes to transform the fragmented landscape into a more integrated and innovative environment.

Hoskinson also pointed to practical collaborations, such as integrating Midnight with the Brave browser. He believes Brave’s features like Brave Ads and Brave VPN, which reward users with the Basic Attention Token (BAT), complement Midnight’s focus on privacy and user empowerment. Such partnerships could offer meaningful crypto-earning opportunities while protecting user data.

A Broader Call for Shared Progress

Beyond blockchain interoperability, Hoskinson expressed optimism about Ripple’s rumored plan to acquire Circle. He sees this move as a step toward a more balanced and efficient crypto sector, demonstrating his broader vision of industry progress over rivalry.

In a space often divided by fierce competition, Hoskinson’s call for unity and cooperation could inspire a shift toward shared innovation—one that helps blockchain technology achieve its full potential for billions worldwide.
