Chainlink Launches Real-Time Price Feeds for Ondo Tokenized Stocks on Ethereum

Chainlink has taken another major step in connecting traditional finance with decentralized finance by delivering real-time on-chain prices for tokenized U.S. equities issued by Ondo Finance. The integration marks a shift in how tokenized stocks can function on Ethereum, moving them beyond passive exposure into usable financial assets within DeFi protocols.

Ondo Global Markets, Ondo Finance’s tokenization platform, has integrated Chainlink Data Feeds to support institutional-grade pricing for tokenized equities. The first assets to go live include SPYon, representing the SPDR S&P 500 ETF; QQQon, linked to the Invesco QQQ ETF; and TSLAon, which mirrors Tesla shares. These price feeds now update continuously on Ethereum, allowing decentralized applications to reference accurate market values directly on-chain.

Access to reliable pricing is essential for DeFi, especially for lending markets. Protocols must constantly track the value of collateral to determine borrowing limits, manage risk, and trigger liquidations when necessary. Without live price data, lending against real-world assets would be impractical and risky. Chainlink’s real-time feeds solve this problem by ensuring Ondo’s tokenized stocks reflect current market conditions at all times.

Tokenized Stocks Enter Active DeFi Use

With accurate pricing in place, tokenized equities can now be used actively within DeFi rather than simply held for exposure. Ondo noted that its price feeds also account for dividends and corporate actions, keeping token values aligned with the underlying equities. This allows DeFi applications to rely on figures that mirror traditional stock market behavior.

The modular lending platform Euler has already integrated these assets. Users can now supply Ondo’s tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral and borrow stablecoins against them on Ethereum. This represents the first instance of tokenized equities being used as collateral in Ethereum-based lending. Previously, such tokens were passive instruments, unable to unlock liquidity or generate additional utility.

In traditional finance, investors often borrow against securities instead of selling them, preserving long-term exposure while accessing capital. Euler CEO Jonathan Han highlighted that the same concept is now becoming available on-chain, enabling users to borrow against their holdings without giving up potential future gains.

Building a Foundation for Onchain Finance

Strong risk management remains a priority. Ondo explained that the Senator system will oversee key safety parameters such as collateral ratios, liquidation thresholds, and borrowing limits to maintain market stability during periods of volatility. According to Sentora CEO Anthony Demartino, tokenization now gives retail investors flexibility that was previously limited to traditional financial systems.

Ondo emphasized that lending is only the beginning. Plans are already in place to expand tokenized equities into vaults, structured products, and broader DeFi applications. As Chainlink continues to support more assets, tokenized stocks could become core building blocks of the on-chain financial ecosystem, further bridging traditional markets with decentralized infrastructure.
