Crypto Market Drops to $2.59 Trillion as Bitcoin and Ethereum Lead Decline

IMAGE OF CRYPTO MARKET, LATEST NEWS ON A NEWSPAPER

The crypto market recorded a slight downturn over the past 24 hours, with total market capitalization dropping 0.29% to $2.59 trillion. Trading activity also slowed, with 24-hour volume falling 6.26% to $141.54 billion. Market sentiment stayed balanced, as the Crypto Fear & Greed Index held at 58, still in the “Neutral” zone.

Bitcoin and Ethereum Lead Market Decline

The two largest digital assets pulled the market lower.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $76,921.24 after a 1.47% drop. Despite the decline, it still dominates the market with a 60% share.

Ethereum also moved lower, falling 2.52% to $2,288.79. Its market dominance now stands at 10.7%, showing a continued strong but slightly reduced influence in the broader crypto ecosystem.

Altcoins and Meme Tokens Show Mixed Gains

While major assets declined, some tokens posted explosive gains.

These sharp moves highlight ongoing speculative activity in lower-cap tokens, even during broader market weakness.

DeFi and NFT Markets Under Pressure

The decentralized finance sector also softened.

Total value locked (TVL) in DeFi dropped 2.23% to $83.327 billion. Leading protocol Lido fell 4.61% to $21.399 billion in locked assets. However, some smaller protocols saw extreme short-term spikes, showing uneven activity across the sector.

NFTs told a slightly different story. Sales volume increased 12.45% to $6.9 million. The top collection, Courtyard, rose 5.32% to $842,303 in sales, suggesting selective strength in the NFT market despite broader uncertainty.

Global Developments Shape Market Outlook

Regulatory and infrastructure updates added more movement to the market narrative.

Binance announced it will delist five margin trading pairs, including TRX/ETH, as part of routine risk management adjustments.

In regulatory progress, Israel approved the launch of a shekel-pegged stablecoin, $BILS, marking another step toward structured digital currency adoption.

Meanwhile, Solana ecosystem developers introduced “Falcon,” a post-quantum solution designed to help maintain high network performance and security in future computing environments.

Market Outlook Remains Cautiously Balanced

Overall, the crypto market remains in a consolidation phase. Major assets are under mild selling pressure, while selective tokens and niche sectors continue to show volatility-driven gains. Mixed signals from DeFi, NFTs, and global regulation suggest traders are still assessing direction rather than committing to a strong trend.
