Crypto Market Surge Explained: Top Factors Moving BTC, ETH & XRP Price

IMAGE OF CRYPTO MARKET, LATEST NEWS ON A NEWSPAPER

The cryptocurrency market is seeing a strong rebound as Bitcoin leads the way past $73,000. This surge has lifted Ethereum, XRP, and other major altcoins, with investors and traders closely watching the factors behind this recovery.

Bitcoin Breakout and Short Liquidations Drive Gains

The crypto market is up 6.89%, with total capitalization reaching $2.46 trillion, surpassing the seven-day moving average of $2.33 trillion. Bitcoin’s breakout from its consolidation zone, combined with over $500 million in short liquidations, nearly $408 million from shorts, has fueled this bullish move.

Bitcoin accounted for nearly half of these liquidations, making it one of the top performers among leading cryptocurrencies. BTC-focused ETFs also saw a $225 million inflow, contrasting with outflows from ETH ETFs, supporting Bitcoin’s upward trend.

Global Events and Increased Buying Interest

Macro uncertainty, including ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, has strengthened Bitcoin’s appeal as a hedge. Ethereum is approaching $2,200, and derivatives activity has increased significantly. Global crypto futures Open Interest rose 8% over 24 hours to $103 billion, with DOGE posting over a 10% gain among the top 10 coins.

Additional indicators show positive funding rates and cumulative volume delta (CVD) for major cryptos, while 30-day implied volatility remains stable, signaling calm markets. Puts on the Deribit exchange are trading higher than calls, indicating reduced bearish sentiment.

Can the Recovery Sustain?

The rally’s continuation depends on Bitcoin holding the $72,000–$73,000 support zone. If BTC stays above this level, short-term targets could reach $75,000–$76,500. Ethereum is eyeing $3,900, potentially moving toward $4,050–$4,100, while XRP trades near $0.64 with resistance around $0.68.

A drop below $72,000 may weaken the recovery, possibly triggering a pullback to $70,000. For now, the crypto market remains broadly bullish, but Bitcoin’s performance will be the key factor in sustaining gains.
