Ethereum price is struggling to regain the $1,800 level as traders watch for signs of a stronger recovery. ETH is currently trading near $1,780, holding above key support levels while institutional activity sends mixed signals.
The next few trading sessions could determine whether Ethereum continues its rebound or faces another wave of selling pressure.
Ethereum Holds Near $1,780 as Bulls Fight for Control
Ethereum is trading between major technical levels, creating uncertainty among investors. ETH remains slightly above its 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) at $1,739 but is still below the 50-day EMA at $1,798 and the 100-day EMA at $1,946.
The positioning shows that Ethereum bulls have defended short-term support, but stronger resistance remains ahead. A move above $1,800 could improve market sentiment and open the way toward higher price targets.
Ethereum’s trading volume stands near $8.8 billion, while its market capitalization remains around $215 billion. The volume-to-market-cap ratio suggests traders are cautious, with neither strong buying pressure nor heavy panic selling dominating the market.
The RSI is near 51, showing a neutral market condition. This indicates ETH is not currently overbought or oversold.
BitMine Expands Ethereum Holdings to 5.77 Million ETH
Institutional activity continues to play an important role in Ethereum’s long-term outlook. BitMine Immersion Technologies recently added 27,801 ETH to its holdings, increasing its total reserves to 5.77 million ETH, worth approximately $10.25 billion.
BitMine Chairman Thomas Lee said the company is close to reaching its goal of holding 5% of Ethereum’s circulating supply. The firm has also deployed 4.91 million ETH through its Made in America Validator Network (MAVAN), allowing it to generate staking revenue through Ethereum’s proof-of-stake network.

Despite the strong accumulation from BitMine, institutional demand has shown mixed signals. US spot Ethereum ETFs recorded $15.5 million in outflows after ending the previous week with $18.4 million in inflows, highlighting uncertainty among some investors.
Can Ethereum Reclaim $1,800 and Reach $2,000?
Ethereum’s next major challenge is breaking above the $1,800 resistance zone.

If ETH maintains support between $1,750 and $1,770, buyers could attempt another breakout. A successful move above $1,800 may push the price toward the $1,845–$1,865 range before testing the psychological $2,000 level.
The neutral scenario places Ethereum in a sideways range between $1,750 and $1,800 as traders wait for a major market catalyst.
However, a drop below $1,750 could weaken the bullish outlook and expose ETH to a possible decline toward $1,650.
Liquidations Add Pressure as Traders Remain Cautious
Ethereum has faced increased liquidation activity, with around $50.6 million in liquidations recorded over the past 24 hours. Long positions accounted for about $31.6 million of those losses. The liquidation data highlight the risks of excessive leverage as ETH approaches key resistance levels.
While Ethereum remains below previous highs, investors continue to monitor institutional accumulation and ETF activity for signs of a stronger recovery.
A break above $1,800 could strengthen Ethereum’s short-term outlook, while failure to reclaim the level may keep ETH trapped in its current range.
