Hedera HBAR Rises 15% as Bank of England Embraces DLT Innovation

Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR) has been selected to participate in the Bank of England’s Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) Challenge, a move that could reshape its role in financial innovation. Its price has climbed by over 15% this week, coinciding with the launch of the HBAR ETF on Nasdaq — signaling strong institutional confidence in the project’s future.

Hedera Joins the Bank of England’s DLT Innovation Challenge

The Bank of England, in partnership with the Bank for International Settlements Innovation Hub (BISIH) London Centre, launched the DLT Innovation Challenge to explore how wholesale central bank money can be securely transacted and settled on external programmable ledgers not operated by the Bank itself.

Hedera’s inclusion in this initiative positions it alongside other blockchain heavyweights such as Ava Labs, Chainlink, Aave Labs, and Circle. Traditional financial institutions like HSBC and KPMG are also participating, highlighting a growing bridge between decentralized finance (DeFi) and traditional finance (TradFi).

The project aims to uncover insights into settlement finality, scalability, interoperability, and security — critical components for the future of digital money infrastructure. This marks a significant step for the Bank of England as it deepens its exploration of stablecoins and central bank digital currency (CBDC) applications.

ETF Launch Boosts HBAR’s Market Standing

Adding to the excitement, Canary Capital launched two new ETFs on Nasdaq on October 27 — one for Litecoin (LTC) and another for Hedera (HBAR). These are the first ETFs to offer direct exposure to both assets, making HBAR only the third crypto (tied with Litecoin) to receive a spot ETF listing after Bitcoin and Ethereum.

According to Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas, the Hedera ETF saw $8 million in inflows on its first trading day, a strong debut that underscores growing investor appetite.

HBAR Price Outlook: Targeting $0.34

On the charts, HBAR is currently trading near $0.195 and moving within a bullish channel. If it breaks above $0.205, analysts believe it could rally toward $0.34, the next key resistance level. With institutional interest growing and regulatory bodies like the Bank of England experimenting with DLT, Hedera appears poised for a potential breakout.

While still down over 60% from its all-time high, the combination of an ETF listing and central bank collaboration could help HBAR climb the ranks toward becoming a top-10 digital asset in the coming bull cycle.
