Hyperliquid strengthened its position in the decentralized derivatives market after recording $218 billion in perpetual trading volume in July 2026. The figure pushed the platform ahead of seven major competitors combined, showing continued user demand for its decentralized trading services.

Data from CryptoRank shows that Hyperliquid’s monthly volume surpassed the combined $189 billion recorded by other leading perpetual DEXs, including Aster, Lighter, GRVT, Variational, Pacifica, EVEDEX, and Extended.

Hyperliquid Leads as Perpetual DEX Volumes Decline

The broader perpetual DEX market faced a slowdown in July, with total trading activity across the top eight platforms falling by about $85 billion compared with the previous month.

Despite the overall decline, Hyperliquid continued to attract traders and increased its dominance in decentralized derivatives. The platform’s $218 billion volume placed it far ahead of its closest competitors.

Aster ranked second with $43.6 billion in monthly trading volume, creating a gap of more than $174 billion between the two platforms. Lighter followed in third place with $36.4 billion, while GRVT recorded $33.4 billion during the same period.

The large difference between Hyperliquid and other platforms highlights its growing role in the perpetual DEX sector.

Hyperliquid Expands Lead Over Other DEX Platforms

Beyond the top three platforms, other decentralized exchanges recorded smaller but notable trading activity in July.

Variational generated $23.7 billion in volume, while Pacifica reached $22.2 billion. EVEDEX recorded $14.4 billion, and Extended closed the list with $13.5 billion in monthly volume.

Although most platforms experienced weaker trading activity, Hyperliquid maintained strong performance. The platform’s ability to capture a larger share of decentralized derivatives trading shows increasing demand from users looking for alternatives to centralized exchanges.

Growing Competition in Decentralized Derivatives Trading

Perpetual decentralized exchanges have gained attention as traders seek platforms that offer non-custodial trading and on-chain transparency. Hyperliquid’s latest performance places it at the center of this growing sector.

The July figures also show that competition among perpetual DEX platforms remains intense. While several exchanges continue expanding their user bases, Hyperliquid currently holds a significant advantage in trading volume.

As decentralized derivatives markets continue developing, Hyperliquid’s ability to maintain high trading activity could influence how the sector evolves in the coming months.
