- IOTA has rebounded above $0.047, improving its short-term outlook.
- A break above $0.050 could support further gains, while renewed selling may trigger another pullback.
IOTA has rebounded above $0.047 after facing selling pressure earlier this week, raising questions about whether it can sustain its recovery. While the latest price movement has improved short-term sentiment, IOTA still faces resistance as traders watch for confirmation of a stronger rebound.
IOTA Price Rebounds as Buyers Return
IOTA traded around $0.0481 at press time, up approximately 5.5% over 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap. The recovery follows a period of weakness that pushed IOTA toward the $0.045 area.
The move above $0.047 challenges the bearish outlook in the earlier analysis. However, a short-term price rebound does not necessarily signal a lasting trend reversal.
IOTA now needs to maintain its recovery and push through nearby resistance to strengthen the bullish case.
IOTA Technical Analysis Shows Mixed Signals
The latest technical readings show a shift from the earlier bearish outlook. As of October 16, the 14-day RSI had climbed to around 60, signaling stronger buying pressure and suggesting IOTA may be moving away from oversold territory.
The same data placed the 20-day simple moving average near $0.0476 and the 50-day average around $0.0473. IOTA was trading above both levels, although the 200-day moving average near $0.0501 remained overhead resistance These readings suggest that buyers have gained ground in the short term, but the broader recovery still faces obstacles.
IOTA Price Prediction: $0.0498 Resistance in Focus
With IOTA trading around $0.048, the next challenge is to move above the $0.049 to $0.050 resistance area. CoinMarketCap’s October 16 analysis identified resistance near $0.0498, making this an important level to watch.
A sustained move above this zone could support further recovery. However, failure to break through resistance could leave IOTA vulnerable to another pullback.
On the downside, holding above $0.047 would help preserve the recent recovery. A drop below that level would weaken the bullish case and increase the risk of a retest of lower prices.
The original forecast identified $0.0417 as a potential downside level, but that target belongs to the earlier analysis and should not be treated as a newly confirmed forecast.
IOTA Network Development Continues
Despite recent price volatility, IOTA continues to advance its network technology. Its Q3 2026 report highlighted the activation of the Starfish-Speed consensus upgrade on the mainnet in September. The upgrade reportedly increased node synchronization speed by 2.6 times, improving the efficiency of the network’s consensus processes.
Development also progressed on Bluestreak, Vantage, and P-COOL, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand the IOTA ecosystem. These developments provide a positive longer-term backdrop for the project, although continued network progress does not guarantee immediate price gains.
Can IOTA Sustain Its Recovery?
IOTA’s latest rebound has challenged the earlier bearish outlook, with the token moving above $0.047 and recovering above several shorter-term moving averages.
The next test is whether buyers can push the price through the $0.049 to $0.050 resistance zone. A failure to do so could lead to renewed selling pressure.
For now, IOTA’s short-term outlook has improved, but a sustained move above resistance is needed to confirm that the recovery can continue.
