- IOTA wallets have surged from 226,000 to over 600,000 in three months, driven by e-sports fan tokens and large NFT launches.
- Network upgrades and growing use cases position IOTA to surpass 2 million wallets soon, boosting its market potential.
IOTA has seen fast growth in wallet accounts, rising from 226,000 to over 600,000 in just three months. This increase is mainly due to popular e-sports fan tokens and big NFT launches.
Fan Tokens Drive Wallet Growth
The rise in IOTA’s wallets is linked to fan tokens in e-sports. Supporter Salima said these tokens have caused wallet numbers to jump quickly. Also, CricketFly, a Web3 cricket game from Pakistan, issues thousands of NFTs every minute on IOTA’s network. Each NFT is linked to a wallet, which helps push wallet numbers higher.
IOTA Could Beat Fan Token-Only Blockchains
If this growth keeps up, IOTA could have over 2 million wallets soon. That would put it ahead of Chiliz, a blockchain made only for fan tokens with about 2.5 million wallets. This shows how strong and flexible IOTA is as a multi-use blockchain.
Salima pointed out that this success wasn’t planned. She said, “If this can happen with fan tokens, imagine what other industries IOTA could grow in.”
Upgrades Make IOTA Faster and Stronger
Behind this growth are big upgrades to IOTA’s network. The latest update added a new system that lets up to 150 validators keep the network decentralized. Transaction speeds now pass 50,000 per second. This makes IOTA great for small payments and complex finance uses.
Features like smart contracts, staking, and token support also attract developers and businesses.
IOTA’s token price is rising too. It’s trading around $0.21, up 2.7% in 24 hours and 13.5% in a week. Experts say if it passes $0.25, it could rise to $0.30.
