Lava Network, the blockchain protocol powering access across 50+ chains, today announces the introduction of The Lava Assistance Fund – a new coordination layer designed to align all protocol activity around LAVA.
As adoption scales – with Lava now supporting billions of daily transactions and requests across chains such as NEAR, Filecoin, Arbitrum and Movement, and leading applications like Axelar, Paraswap, HOT, Sweat and Keplr wallets – the need for unified coordination grows. Previously, Lava coordinated rewards in different tokens depending on each chain. The Lava Assistance Fund addresses this by routing all network participation, staking, and access through a single utility token, LAVA.
Examples of activity coordinated through the Fund include:
- Lava Pools: Chains contribute native tokens to incentivize infrastructure access, with rewards settled in LAVA.
- Lava Subscriptions: Applications interact with Lava via subscription models operating in LAVA.
- Sponsorship Packages: External partnerships and coordination efforts are organized through the Fund, using LAVA as the operational token.
The Fund’s objective is to strengthen performance, improve contributor incentives, and streamline user experience. To ensure full transparency, a public, onchain dashboard tracking the Fund’s activities will be launched
This evolution reinforces Lava’s commitment to simple, scalable infrastructure – where applications, users, and contributors operate through a unified system built for real-world demand.
About Lava Network
Lava Network enables 24/7 access to blockchain apps, with minimal downtime.
Lava is a protocol that coordinates traffic from AI agents, apps, and wallets across every blockchain. Lava aggregates RPC providers and directs the flow of transactions and data queries, such as wallet balances, based on the speed and reliability of the provider. To date, the protocol has secured $3.5m+ in annualized revenue, and leading chains and applications – including NEAR, Filecoin, and Axelar – rely on Lava to deliver ultra-reliable access for their ecosystems.
