Metaplanet Increases Bitcoin Holdings to 17,132 BTC with New Purchase

Metaplanet Inc., a publicly listed bitcoin treasury company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (3350) and OTCQX (MTPLF), has acquired an additional 780 bitcoin. This latest purchase raises the company’s total bitcoin holdings to 17,132 BTC, reinforcing its commitment to strategic Bitcoin Treasury Operations.

Details of the Latest Bitcoin Acquisition

The recent acquisition was made at an average price of 17.52 million yen per bitcoin (approximately $118,270). The total cost for the 780 bitcoin was about 13.666 billion yen. Overall, Metaplanet’s average purchase price across all bitcoin holdings now stands at 14.78 million yen (around $99,813) per bitcoin. The company has invested roughly 253.282 billion yen in bitcoin to date.

Strong BTC Yield Drives Shareholder Value

Metaplanet tracks its bitcoin acquisition success through a key performance metric known as BTC Yield. This figure reflects how well the company’s bitcoin holdings perform over time. From July 1 to July 28, 2025, Metaplanet reported a BTC Yield of 22.5%. This strong yield highlights the company’s focus on enhancing shareholder value through effective bitcoin treasury management.
