- Ondo Finance and Pantera Capital are investing $250 million into startups focused on tokenizing real-world assets like bonds and stocks.
- The initiative supports Ondo’s broader mission to modernize finance through blockchain and 24/7 market access.
Ondo Finance and Pantera Capital have teamed up to invest $250 million in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. The new project, called the Ondo Catalyst Fund, will support startups that bring traditional financial assets like bonds, stocks, real estate, and private equity onto the blockchain.
According to Ondo’s Chief Strategy Officer Ian De Bode, the RWA space is growing fast. He described it as an “arms race,” driven by the need for faster, 24/7 access to financial markets.
What the Ondo Catalyst Fund Will Do
The fund will invest in both tokens and equity from startups that are building blockchain-based versions of traditional finance tools. This move sets Ondo apart from platforms like Robinhood, which recently launched tokenized shares using synthetic derivatives. Ondo’s goal is to offer real ownership of tokenized assets, not just copies.
Earlier in 2025, It launched Ondo Global Markets, a platform that lets crypto wallets access tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs, and bonds.
Working With Big Names in Crypto
Ondo is not doing this alone. It helped form the Global Markets Alliance, which includes major crypto names like Solana Foundation, Fireblocks, Trust Wallet, BitGo, and 1inch. The goal is to build standards for tokenized assets and make global markets available 24/7.
Recently, Ondo also launched OUSG, a token backed by BlackRock’s liquidity fund, on the XRP Ledger. It allows users to mint and redeem tokens at any time using Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. Along with its USDY token, Ondo’s treasury products now have a combined market cap of around $1.4 billion.
Looking Ahead: Rules and Growth
Ondo is already working with U.S. regulators to help shape the rules for tokenized finance. With strong backing from investors like Founders Fund, It believes the future of finance will be built on blockchain.
The $250 million Catalyst Fund is a strong signal that real-world asset tokenization is moving from idea to reality—and fast.
