- Pi Network successfully tested its 12-Grid Launchpad system, proving that token distribution works from subscription to wallet delivery.
- Despite being on testnet, the update shows progress toward real utility as upgrades and future features move closer.
Pi Network is taking a clear step toward real blockchain utility. Its latest testnet update shows that token distribution is no longer just a concept but a working system.
The project has begun testing its new Token Launchpad using a “12-Grid” system. This feature is designed to allow users to subscribe to projects, receive allocations, and get tokens directly in their wallets.

Pi Launchpad Test Proves Full Token Distribution Process Works
The biggest highlight from this update is that the full process has been successfully tested. Users subscribed to a project using Test-Pi, the system calculated allocations, and tokens were delivered to wallets.
In one example, users received IRRA test tokens, with transactions visible on the blockchain. This confirms that the process is transparent and verifiable.
Over 300,000 users took part in the test. They staked around 24 million Test-Pi to stress-test the system. This level of participation shows strong community interest and helps validate the infrastructure.
The system introduced a 30-day lock-up period. This prevents users from redeeming tokens immediately, a common feature in many launchpad systems.
Network Upgrades Strengthen Pi’s Ecosystem Plans
This progress comes alongside a major technical upgrade. Protocol 21.2 went live on April 6 as a mandatory update for node operators.
The upgrade improves network stability and prepares the system for decentralized exchange readiness. It also sets the stage for future developments within the ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Pi Network plans to introduce the PiRC1 token framework on April 22. This will define how tokens function within the network. After that, Protocol 23 is expected to launch on May 18, bringing smart contract support.
These updates are key. They will allow developers to build applications, launch tokens, and create services within the ecosystem.
Pi Network Moves Closer to Real Utility Despite Mixed Reactions
While the testnet progress is promising, community reactions remain mixed. Some users have raised concerns about delays, especially around KYC verification and mainnet migration.
Others are questioning how rewards and processes are managed. These concerns continue to shape discussions within the community.
Still, many users remain optimistic. The successful launchpad test signals that Pi Network is building real tools, not just ideas.
The 12-Grid system may still be in testing, but it shows a clear direction. Pi Network is slowly evolving from a mining-focused platform into a full blockchain ecosystem with real use cases.
