  • Pi Network hackathon has reached its halfway point, showcasing innovative apps like Starmax, Nature’s Pulse, and ReloadPi.
  • Despite strong community engagement, the Pi token continues to struggle, recently hitting a new all-time low near $0.25.

Hackathon Halfway Update

Pi Network’s highly anticipated hackathon, which officially kicked off on August 21, has now reached its midpoint. The team marked this milestone with a dedicated video update for Pioneers, highlighting innovative applications developed so far. Participants have until October 15 to submit their final projects, with an optional midpoint check-in held on September 19.

Several exciting applications have emerged from the hackathon. Starmax enables users to buy goods directly with Pi tokens, simplifying everyday transactions. Nature’s Pulse connects consumers with farmers, allowing users to purchase fresh produce with Pi for direct delivery. Gamers can enjoy Eternal Rush, an online game built natively for the Pi Network ecosystem. Meanwhile, ReloadPi allows Pi holders to shop from over 300 brands, including ordering food and beverages online. StreamPi caters to content creators, letting them upload content and monetize it using a single Pi token.

The hackathon offers a prize pool of 160,000 Pi tokens, awarding 75,000 Pi to first place, 45,000 Pi to second place, 15,000 Pi to third place, and 5,000 Pi each to up to five teams as honorable mentions.

Pi Network Token Price Struggles Continue

While the hackathon shows strong engagement and creative development within the Pi Network community, the project’s native token remains under pressure. Last week, Pi recorded a new all-time low of just over $0.25. Efforts to recover were quickly halted, leaving the token deep in the red across multiple scales.

Despite these challenges, the ongoing hackathon and the developing applications may strengthen Pi Network’s real-world utility and potentially boost long-term adoption. Starmax, Nature’s Pulse, ReloadPi, and other projects demonstrate the team’s commitment to creating tangible use cases for Pioneers, reinforcing the value of active participation.

With the final hackathon submission deadline set for October 15, Pioneers are motivated to refine their projects and compete for the prize pool. The success of these applications could have broader implications for Pi Network’s ecosystem, potentially enhancing the token’s utility and visibility.

As the hackathon progresses, the community will be watching closely to see whether real-world use cases can help Pi recover from its recent lows or if the token will continue its downward trajectory.
