Pi Network Introduces Rust SDK to Revolutionize Smart Contract Creation

Pi Network has launched a Rust Software Development Kit (SDK) to help developers build, test, and deploy smart contracts on its blockchain. This SDK makes development easier, faster, and more secure, while increasing the usefulness of the Pi token.

The Rust SDK is type-safe and async-first, letting developers interact with Pi Network APIs efficiently. It includes features like cryptographic hashing, signature verification, persistent storage, and secondary contract calls.

A command-line interface (CLI) allows developers to compile, test, and deploy contracts right from their computers. The local testing mode simulates the blockchain environment, helping developers fix errors before contracts go live.

Strong Host Environment

The SDK uses a solid host environment with Rust crates that handle resource tracking, fee processing, and on-chain storage. A WebAssembly interpreter runs contracts quickly and securely. Hackathon Encourages Innovation

Pi Network is hosting a global Pi Hackathon until October 15, with a 160,000 Pi prize pool. Developers are challenged to build applications that connect merchants and customers and simplify Pi transactions. Prizes include 75,000 Pi for first place, 45,000 Pi for second, 15,000 Pi for third, and rewards for honorable mentions.

The hackathon focuses on practical use, encouraging developers to bring smart contracts into real-world applications.
