Pi Network’s Urgent Reminder: Stay Safe and Follow Official Channels!

  • Pi Network has reminded users to rely only on official communication channels to ensure their accounts and wallets remain secure, particularly as they navigate the KYC process and migrate to the open mainnet.
  • Despite over 9 million successful migrations, some users face delays and must complete additional verification steps, with the final deadline for migration set for January 31, 2025.

Pi Network, one of the most talked-about cryptocurrency projects, has issued an important reminder to its vast community. With the much-anticipated launch of its open mainnet on the horizon, Pi Network users need to stay cautious and ensure they are following the correct procedures to protect their accounts and wallets.

Stick to Official Channels

In a recent communication via X (formerly Twitter), Pi Network cautioned its users to rely solely on official channels for updates. This is especially important for those navigating the Know-Your-Customer (KYC) process or migrating to the open mainnet. Users were urged to only use links provided through the Pi Safety Center to ensure they are accessing legitimate Pi applications and resources.

This message of vigilance was welcomed by many within the community, with some users calling it a “necessary reminder” in these times of digital vulnerability. The advice came at a time when many had hoped for an announcement regarding the open mainnet’s official launch, which has been long-awaited but continuously delayed.

KYC Process: Delays and What to Do

While over 9 million users have successfully migrated to the open mainnet, there are still others stuck in the KYC process. Pi Network confirmed that some users are experiencing delays due to issues such as the need to complete additional “liveness checks” to verify their identity. These checks often require a clear video with proper lighting, a simple step that can sometimes be overlooked.

If you’re among those still in the process, Pi Network recommends that you don’t close the popup when prompted to take additional liveness checks. You must also sign the token acknowledgment, even if you’re still awaiting final KYC results, as it’s a necessary step for migrating to the mainnet.

Final Steps for Smooth Migration

Pi Network also provided guidance for users struggling to move forward in the KYC process. If your KYC results are pending, try updating your name by spending Pi or resubmit your application to resolve any outstanding issues. This proactive approach can help avoid further delays in the migration process.

The team has made significant progress, with over 9 million successful KYC migrations, but the launch of the mainnet remains tied to the completion of the KYC process for at least 15 million users. The deadline for this milestone is set for January 31, 2025, though whether this will be met remains to be seen. Will Pi Network meet this deadline or extend it again? Time will tell.

As the Pi Network community continues to grow, users are urged to stay informed and cautious. Keep your accounts secure and ensure you’re following the necessary steps for migration.
