- Polkadot launches dotUSD as DOT faces selling pressure and collateral concerns.
- The price outlook remains bearish, with support at $1.082.
Polkadot has introduced a new product platform and launched dotUSD, a governance-managed stablecoin aimed at expanding activity across its ecosystem. However, DOT remains under pressure, trading below key short-term moving averages as bearish technical indicators point to further downside risk.
The developments come as the Polkadot Community Foundation pushes a more user-focused strategy through the Polkadot Product Platform. While the initiative aims to improve ecosystem utility and user adoption, concerns over dotUSD’s collateral structure have raised questions about the stablecoin’s risk profile.
Polkadot Launches Product Platform and dotUSD Stablecoin
The Polkadot Community Foundation has introduced the Polkadot Product Platform through a new DAO strategy proposal on SubSquare. The initiative focuses on building products around user needs, with dotUSD emerging as a key part of the ecosystem’s stablecoin strategy.
The foundation has also officially launched dotUSD as an on-chain stablecoin managed through governance. A separate proposal seeks to make it the preferred stablecoin of the Polkadot DAO, potentially increasing its role in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications across the network.
However, the launch has sparked debate over dotUSD’s backing. The stablecoin currently relies on USDT reserves rather than native DOT collateral, which had been part of the original plan. This difference has raised concerns about its risk exposure and the long-term structure of the project.
Traders Union expert Viktoras Karapetjanc views the product strategy as a constructive step toward improving Polkadot’s utility and attracting more users. He argues that resolving collateral concerns while maintaining adoption could help strengthen the ecosystem over time, despite the current weakness in DOT’s price.
DOT Price Faces Resistance Near $1.20
DOT was trading around $1.16, down approximately 8.14% over 24 hours, according to the supplied market data. The token has slipped below its 20-period and 50-period moving averages on the hourly chart, indicating continued short-term selling pressure.

However, DOT remains above its 200-period moving average on the daily timeframe, suggesting that the broader technical picture is not entirely bearish.
The Ichimoku Kijun level near $1.196 represents immediate resistance. A sustained move above this level could improve the short-term outlook, although the current technical indicators do not yet confirm a reversal.
The MACD indicator signals strong selling pressure, while the ADX supports a bearish bias. The RSI stands at 44.893, reflecting weak momentum without placing DOT in oversold territory.
Meanwhile, the Stochastic RSI, CCI, and Awesome Oscillator show neutral readings. These indicators offer little evidence of a strong reversal, while negative Bull/Bear Power suggests sellers remain in control of intraday trading.
Polkadot Price Prediction: $1.08 Support in Focus
DOT is expected to trade between $1.082 and $1.227 in the short term, based on the supplied volatility analysis. The outlook favors continued weakness, although the token could remain within this range if neither buyers nor sellers establish clear control.
The $1.082 level is the key support to watch. A break below it could expose DOT to further losses, particularly if selling pressure intensifies across the broader crypto market.
On the upside, resistance near $1.196 remains an important hurdle. A decisive move above this level could improve market sentiment and open the way toward the upper end of the projected range at $1.227.
For now, the technical outlook remains cautious. The launch of dotUSD and the new product platform could support Polkadot’s long-term ecosystem development, but traders will likely focus on whether DOT can hold its support levels and recover above short-term resistance.
