- Solana (SOL) gained 2% to $81.33 but faces strong resistance at $87.
- Short-term technical indicators suggest sideways-to-lower price action, with $79.00 as key support.
Solana (SOL) is trading at $81.33, up 2.05% in daily gains. Despite the uptick, SOL remains below key moving averages, facing technical resistance at $87.19. Analysts warn that short-term downside risks persist even as network fundamentals improve.
Solana Fundamentals Strengthen With Rising Adoption
The Solana network is showing growing resilience. Stablecoin transaction volume nears $2 trillion, highlighting increased usage. The Firedancer validator by Jump Crypto now holds over 20% of mainnet stake, boosting stability. Institutional interest is also rising, with Morgan Stanley filing for a Solana Trust and staking ETFs surpassing $1 billion in assets under management.
Meanwhile, the Solana Foundation launched an AI Agent Skills toolkit, encouraging on-chain AI integrations. These developments underline Solana’s long-term growth potential despite current market caution.
Technical Indicators Point to Near-Term Resistance
SOL trades below its SMA-20 ($85.66), SMA-50 ($85.60), and SMA-200 ($135.70), signaling persistent bearish pressure. Daily indicators show oversold conditions: RSI at 43.08, CCI at –82.52, and Stoch RSI at 35.76. MACD and ADX flash neutral-to-sell signals, while the Ichimoku Kijun at $87.19 acts as immediate resistance.
Analysts note that SOL is likely to remain within a $79.00–$83.50 range over the coming days. A break above $87.19 could trigger a stronger recovery, but this seems unlikely without a surge in buying interest.
Downside Risk Remains Despite Positive Sentiment
While network activity and institutional inflows are encouraging, technical indicators warn of further downside. Traders are advised to watch $79.00 support closely, as a breach could push SOL toward late-March lows. Anton Kharitonov from Traders Union emphasizes that technical resistance dominates the short-term outlook, stating, “Unless Solana can reclaim the $87.19 level with strong momentum, there is no compelling setup for a bullish reversal this week.”
Investors should balance positive network developments with ongoing technical risks. Solana’s fundamentals are improving, but short-term price action remains defensive.
