Terra Luna Classic Burns 3.2B Tokens but Price Stalls at Key Support

Terra Luna Classic (LUNC) has once again made headlines after the community carried out a massive burn of 3.2 billion tokens in September. While the effort highlights the determination of supporters to reduce the bloated supply, the price of LUNC remains stuck at critical lows, raising concerns about the altcoin’s future.

Billions Burned, Yet Trillions Remain

The September burn is one of the most notable community-driven efforts in recent months, reducing the circulating supply to 5.55 trillion from its initial 6.48 trillion. More than 15% of the supply is also locked away in staking, adding a layer of scarcity that could, in theory, support long-term growth if new use cases emerge.

Despite these developments, the price of LUNC has stalled around $0.000052. This is the same key support level that helped the token rebound in April and June 2025, but the repeated tests are starting to shake confidence.

OKX Delisting Deals a Blow

The challenges facing LUNC are not limited to oversupply. OKX, one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, recently delisted several LUNC trading pairs, including LUNC/USDT and LUNC/USD. The move also affected related perpetual pairs, dealing a heavy blow to LUNC’s already struggling trading activity.

Throughout September, LUNC’s daily volume hovered just above $11 million—a far cry from its previous market highs. The delisting underscores the declining interest among major platforms and makes it harder for the token to maintain liquidity.

Community Divisions and Whale Hesitation

The community itself creates another hurdle. Members rejected a recent proposal to launch a yield-bearing stablecoin, USTD, failing to rally behind the plan. Without consensus, they scrapped the project despite its potential to attract fresh investor interest.

The lack of unity has also discouraged crypto whales from taking strong positions in LUNC. Large investors, who played a role in past rebounds, are showing little appetite to buy at current prices, leaving retail traders to shoulder most of the market activity.

What Lies Ahead for LUNC?

The 3.2 billion token burn proves that the Terra Luna Classic community remains dedicated to restoring value. However, the combination of exchange delistings, community disagreements, and hesitant whale support continues to weigh down the price.

For LUNC to truly recover, it will need more than just supply cuts. A solid use case, renewed adoption, and stronger market backing may be the only way for the once-prominent token to rise again.
