Tether Mints $1B USDT on Tron, Boosting Crypto Liquidity

Tether has minted $1 billion worth of USDT on the Tron network, adding to the growing supply of the stablecoin on one of its most active blockchains.

The move could support liquidity across Tron as demand for USDT continues to grow. Tron has become a major network for stablecoin transfers, with billions of dollars in USDT activity taking place on the blockchain.

Tether Adds $1 Billion USDT on Tron

Tether minted $1 billion USDT on Tron, according to blockchain activity highlighted in the source report. The new issuance increases the amount of USDT available on the network.

However, a USDT mint does not necessarily mean that all of the newly created tokens immediately enter the market. Tether can mint USDT and hold it in its treasury before releasing it into circulation when demand requires it. A similar $1 billion Tron mint in January 2026 was reported as approved but not issued into active circulation.

USDT is designed to maintain a 1:1 peg with the US dollar and is used by traders, businesses and crypto platforms for transfers and liquidity.

Tron Remains a Major USDT Network

The latest mint highlights Tron’s growing role in the stablecoin market. USDT supply on Tron surpassed $80 billion in June 2025, with the network handling a large share of global USDT activity.

More recent data also shows that Tron remains heavily focused on USDT. Forbes reported in June 2026 that roughly $89 billion in USDT was circulating on Tron, representing close to half of Tether’s total supply at the time.

Tron’s low transaction costs and high activity have helped make it an important network for USDT transfers. The blockchain is widely used for payments, trading and cross-border transfers.

What the $1 Billion Mint Means for Crypto Liquidity

The new USDT supply could provide additional liquidity for traders and protocols operating on Tron if the tokens enter circulation.

More available USDT can also make it easier for users to move funds between exchanges, wallets and decentralized applications. However, the mint alone does not guarantee higher crypto prices.

The key factor will be whether the newly created USDT moves into active circulation and begins to support trading and payment activity.

For now, the $1 billion mint adds to Tether’s expanding USDT presence on Tron and reinforces the network’s importance in the stablecoin market.
