Uniswap Whale Buys $2.29M UNI as Price Clings to Key Support

Uniswap’s UNI token caught attention recently after a single whale purchased 640,000 UNI, valued at $2.29 million, near a multi-month support zone around $3.13. This move signals strategic accumulation but occurs amid broader market caution, leaving the path to higher levels uncertain.

UNI Holds Crucial Support but Faces Resistance

Following the whale’s purchase, UNI hovered near $3.54, just above the demand zone that previously triggered sharp rebounds. While this localized stabilization is encouraging, the token remains in a broader downtrend.

Technical charts highlight $4.92 as a critical resistance level, previously acting as support, while $6.60 marks a stronger supply ceiling tied to prior distribution. Every rally since the breakdown stalled beneath these zones, reinforcing the ongoing bearish structure.

To shift the trend, bulls must reclaim $4.92 with consistent buying pressure. Until then, sellers maintain structural control, keeping UNI’s recovery limited.

Technical Signals Show Short-Term Stabilization

Technical indicators suggest fading downside momentum. The Parabolic SAR flipped below the price near $3.01, signaling a short-term bullish shift. The MACD histogram is contracting, with the MACD line curving toward the signal line, reflecting diminishing bearish pressure.

However, these signs indicate tactical stabilization rather than a confirmed trend reversal. Buyers need to extend gains past $4.92 to validate any meaningful breakout.

Shrinking Reserves and Whale Activity Tighten Supply

UNI’s Exchange Reserve USD recently dropped by 3.07% to $307.95 million, reflecting lower on-exchange liquidity. The whale’s 640,000 UNI purchase adds to this tightening effect, limiting the supply available for immediate selling.

Reduced reserves often amplify price reactions when demand increases. If additional traders join in the accumulation, UNI could see more pronounced upside moves. Without broader participation, the impact remains constrained.

Open Interest Decline Highlights Market Caution

Open Interest fell by 3.46% to $243.56 million, signaling that traders are reducing leveraged exposure. This cautious stance limits derivative-driven volatility and points to a market reset phase.

If spot demand picks up while leverage remains light, UNI may respond efficiently, but absent renewed participation, consolidation near support is likely to continue.

UNI’s short-term outlook hinges on bulls reclaiming $4.92 with increased volume and sustained buying pressure. For now, accumulation near $3.13 shows positioning within a larger downtrend, reinforced by constrained supply and cautious market behavior.
