- XRP has suffered six straight months of losses as sellers continue to block recovery attempts near key resistance levels.
- Whale accumulation, ETF inflows, and possible regulatory progress could help April end the losing streak.
XRP has recorded six straight months of losses, marking its longest monthly decline since 2014. The token has dropped more than 60% from its cycle high of $3.65 reached in July last year. While buyers have attempted short-term recoveries, sellers have continued to take control whenever the price moves higher.
Now, attention is turning to April. A monthly close above $1.33 could finally end XRP’s losing streak and give investors a reason to expect a stronger recovery.
XRP Faces Pressure After Months of Selling
XRP’s decline began in October 2025 after global market uncertainty triggered heavy crypto liquidations. The sell-off erased billions from leveraged positions across the market. During that period, XRP dropped sharply from above $2.80 to below $2.00.
Recovery attempts in November and December did not last. ETF outflows and weaker institutional confidence limited buying strength. Market conditions became even harder in February 2026 when geopolitical tensions pushed oil prices above $100.
Rising inflation concerns also forced institutional investors away from risk assets like cryptocurrencies. Even positive Ripple-related developments, including ETF inflows and partnership announcements, were not enough to fully support the price.
Sellers Defend Key Resistance Levels
XRP recently fell from $1.37 to $1.33 after failing to break resistance near the $1.37 to $1.38 range. Selling pressure increased after the rejection, pushing the price as low as $1.31 before finding minor stability.
Technical data shows a bearish trend line forming near $1.3550. XRP is also trading below the 100-hour Simple Moving Average, which signals weak short-term strength.

Trading volume has increased during price declines. This suggests distribution is still dominating the market instead of strong accumulation from buyers.
Important support remains at $1.33. If that level fails, traders may watch $1.28 as the next major support zone.
Whale Accumulation Builds a Bullish Signal
Despite the ongoing weakness, some larger investors appear to be preparing for a recovery.
CryptoQuant data shows whale wallets have been adding more than 11 million XRP per day on a 30-day average. This marks the strongest accumulation trend seen in the past 10 months.
Exchange outflows have also increased. When tokens leave exchanges, it often reduces immediate selling supply, which can support prices if demand improves.
Ripple-linked ETF products also recorded $3.32 million in inflows, reversing the outflows seen in March. XRP additionally led crypto ETF inflows last week with $120 million.

These signs suggest institutional interest has not disappeared, even while price action remains weak.
Can April Finally Break the Losing Streak?
XRP closed March at $1.33. For April to end the six-month losing streak, the token only needs to close the month above that same level.
Several catalysts could help.
Bitcoin’s recovery above $71,000 may improve confidence across the broader crypto market. At the same time, investors are closely watching progress around the CLARITY Act.
If approved, the legislation could classify XRP as a digital commodity under federal law. Greater regulatory clarity may strengthen institutional confidence and improve long-term sentiment around Ripple.
For now, XRP remains under pressure. Still, whale buying, ETF inflows, and possible regulatory progress are giving the market early reasons to watch April more closely.
