Why Hyperliquid HYPE Is Surging as Markets React to US–Iran Tensions

HYPERLIQUID IMAGE

Hyperliquid (HYPE) attracts attention as global market uncertainty pushes traders toward commodities and alternative trading venues. The coin has held firmly above the $33 level, marking several days of recovery despite heightened geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. As traditional markets pause or limit trading hours, activity has increasingly shifted toward decentralized platforms offering round-the-clock access.

Geopolitical Tensions Fuel On-Chain Commodity Trading

The recent escalation involving the United States and Israel against Iran has triggered renewed demand for safe-haven and energy assets. Commodities such as crude oil, gold, and silver have seen increased interest, and their tokenized versions are now drawing liquidity on decentralized exchanges. This environment has benefited Hyperliquid, which allows uninterrupted trading during periods of global market disruption.

A key driver behind this trend is Hyperliquid Improvement Protocol 3 (HIP-3). The framework enables users to create commodity futures markets by depositing HYPE tokens, expanding the platform’s exposure to macro-driven trading strategies. Data shows HIP-3 open interest remains above $1 billion, reflecting sustained participation even after peaking over the weekend.

Network Activity and Fee Growth Signal Strong Demand

Beyond derivatives activity, on-chain metrics paint a positive picture. Hyperliquid has recorded the highest protocol fee generation among leading chains over the past 24 hours, surpassing several established networks. Strong bridged netflows further highlight growing user confidence, suggesting capital continues to rotate into the ecosystem as traders seek flexible exposure to global events.

This steady inflow supports HYPE’s price stability, even as broader crypto markets remain sensitive to geopolitical headlines and risk-off sentiment.

Derivatives Data Shows Bullish Market Bias

Market positioning also favors further upside. Liquidation data indicate that bearish traders have borne the brunt of recent volatility, with short liquidations significantly outweighing long positions. Despite this, overall futures open interest has held steady, signaling that new positions are entering the market rather than traders exiting.

Funding rates have also turned positive, reinforcing the view that buyers currently dominate sentiment. This combination often reflects expectations of continued price appreciation rather than a short-lived bounce.

Technical Levels to Watch Going Forward

From a technical perspective, HYPE trades comfortably above its long-term moving averages, strengthening its recovery structure. Indicators such as the MACD and RSI point to sustained buying interest without signaling exhaustion. The immediate challenge lies near the $35 resistance zone, where previous rallies stalled.

A clear break above this level could open the door toward the $49–$50 region seen late last year. On the downside, the $32 and $29 areas remain critical supports if broader market conditions deteriorate.

Overall, Hyperliquid’s blend of macro relevance, strong derivatives activity, and improving technical signals places HYPE in focus as traders navigate an increasingly uncertain global landscape.
