XRP Ledger Surpasses 8 Million Activated Accounts After 13 Years

The XRP Ledger (XRPL) has reached a major adoption milestone after surpassing 8 million activated accounts for the first time in its history.

The achievement highlights continued growth across the XRP ecosystem despite weaker market conditions that have slowed new user growth in recent months.

According to data from XRPScan, the XRP Ledger recorded 8,000,688 activated accounts at the time of reporting. The milestone marks a significant step for XRPL, which has continued expanding its user base since launching more than a decade ago.

XRP Ledger Accounts Hold Over 67 Billion XRP

The 8 million activated accounts on the XRP Ledger currently hold approximately 67.526 billion XRP, representing nearly the entire circulating supply of the asset. This shows the scale of participation across the network and highlights how many users are actively holding XRP through XRPL accounts.

The milestone is different from previous wallet count reports because it focuses only on activated accounts. Earlier figures often included every wallet ever created, even if some accounts were later deleted or became inactive.

By counting only currently activated wallets, the latest data provides a clearer picture of actual XRP Ledger participation. Reaching 8 million activated accounts for the first time confirms continued network growth and marks an important adoption milestone for XRPL.

XRP Wallet Growth Slows Amid Market Pressure

Although the XRP Ledger continues to attract new users, wallet creation has slowed compared with previous periods of stronger market activity.

Since March 2026, the network has added an average of about 2,300 new accounts per day. This is lower than the daily average of around 3,000 wallets recorded between January and March 2026.

The slowdown comes as XRP faces price pressure after reaching its all-time high of $3.60 in July 2025. The asset has since declined by more than 70%, trading near the $1.10 level.

Broader weakness across the crypto market has also affected investor sentiment, reducing the pace of new XRP Ledger participation.

During Q3 2025, when market conditions were stronger, the network added roughly 4,800 new wallets daily. Growth remained higher in Q4 2025, with around 4,000 new accounts added each day.

The current average of 2,300 wallets represents a decline of about 52% compared with the Q3 2025 growth rate.

XRPL Adds More Than 500,000 Wallets in 2026

Despite the slower pace, XRP Ledger adoption has continued to expand this year.

Community data shows that XRPL started 2026 with approximately 7.46 million wallets. Since then, the network has added around 534,000 new accounts, pushing the total above the 8 million mark.

However, growth remains slower compared with the same period last year. By this point in 2025, wallet numbers had increased by more than 862,000 accounts as XRP moved closer to its previous price peak.

The difference reflects changing market conditions. Last year, rising prices encouraged more users to join the network, while the current market environment has created a more cautious approach among investors.

XRP Ledger Adoption Remains Strong

The 8 million activated accounts milestone shows that interest in the XRP Ledger remains steady despite market challenges.

While new wallet creation has declined in recent months, the network continues to add users and maintain long-term growth.

A potential XRP price recovery could help increase adoption and bring back the stronger wallet growth rates seen during earlier market rallies. For now, the 8 million account milestone represents another important achievement for the XRP ecosystem after 13 years of development.
