- XRP remains under pressure below $1.450, with bearish indicators pointing to continued weakness unless key resistance levels are reclaimed.
- Failure to break above $1.480 could expose the price to further declines toward the $1.40 and $1.35 support zones.
XRP has extended its decline below important technical levels. The token recently slipped under the $1.4320 mark, signaling that sellers remain firmly in control. While prices are now consolidating, the broader structure suggests that any recovery attempts could face strong resistance in the short term.
The latest move mirrors weakness seen across the wider crypto market, with both Bitcoin and Ethereum also struggling to regain lost ground. For XRP, the inability to hold above $1.480 has proven costly, pushing the price into a short-term bearish zone.
Downtrend Structure Remains Intact
XRP is currently trading below $1.450 and the 100-hour Simple Moving Average, a combination that often reflects sustained selling pressure. A declining channel has formed on the hourly chart, with resistance sitting near $1.480. As long as price action remains trapped within this structure, upside progress may stay limited.
After falling to a recent low of $1.4102, XRP attempted a modest rebound toward the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level. However, the move lacked strength, suggesting that buyers remain cautious. Any renewed recovery is likely to encounter immediate resistance around $1.450, followed by a stronger barrier near $1.4620, which aligns with the 50% Fibonacci retracement level.
The key level to watch remains $1.480. A confirmed close above this zone could open the door for a move toward $1.50 and possibly $1.5250. Beyond that, additional resistance levels sit near $1.55, $1.5880, and ultimately $1.60, where sellers may re-emerge aggressively.
Risk of Further Losses Persists
If XRP fails to break above the $1.480 resistance area, the downside risks increase. Initial support is located near $1.4165, followed closely by the $1.410 level. A decisive break below $1.410 could accelerate losses, exposing the $1.40 psychological level.
Below $1.40, the next major support rests near $1.3850. If selling pressure intensifies, XRP could slide further toward the $1.350 zone, marking a deeper correction from recent highs.
Technical Indicators Favor Bears
Technical indicators continue to lean bearish. The hourly MACD remains active in negative territory, while the Relative Strength Index sits below the neutral 50 level. Together, these signals suggest that sellers still have the upper hand unless a strong catalyst shifts sentiment.
For now, XRP traders are closely watching whether the token can reclaim $1.480. Until then, caution dominates the outlook as the downtrend remains firmly in place.
