Zcash Eyes $520 as Retail Demand Returns and Trading Volume Surges

IMAGE OF Zcash

Zcash (ZEC) is showing signs of recovery after a brief pullback, with improving retail interest helping the price extend gains this week. Rising trading activity and growing futures positions suggest traders are becoming more confident as the broader crypto market sentiment improves.

Although ZEC still faces an important resistance level, technical indicators point to the possibility of further upside if buyers remain in control.

Retail Traders Return to Zcash

Zcash has recovered steadily after concerns surrounding a recently discovered vulnerability in its Orchard shielded transaction pool weighed on sentiment. The issue was addressed through emergency network upgrades, and no cases of exploitation were reported.

As confidence returns, trading activity has increased noticeably. According to CoinGlass data, Zcash derivatives trading volume climbed 17% over the past 24 hours to reach $1.45 billion. At the same time, futures Open Interest rose by more than 11% to $836.17 million.

An increase in Open Interest alongside higher trading volume often shows that traders are opening new positions instead of closing existing ones. This usually signals expectations of a stronger price move.

Market data also shows that short liquidations totaled $2.07 million during the past day, compared with just $369,540 in long liquidations. This imbalance suggests that bearish traders were forced to exit their positions as ZEC continued moving higher.

Meanwhile, the funding rate has eased back toward neutral after remaining positive last week. This indicates that traders are becoming less aggressive with leveraged long positions, even though overall market sentiment remains constructive.

ZEC Approaches a Major Technical Barrier

Zcash continues trading above the $400 level after rebounding from its 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA) near $380 last week. The next major challenge sits around the 50-day EMA near $451. This level has become the immediate resistance that buyers must overcome to strengthen the current recovery.

A successful breakout above this area would improve the technical outlook and could open the door for a move toward the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level near $520.

If buying pressure continues beyond that level, the previous swing high around $690 could become the next longer-term target. Several technical indicators are beginning to improve.

MACD is approaching a bullish crossover, while its negative histogram continues shrinking. This often points to weakening selling pressure.

The RSI remains around 46, suggesting neutral conditions. Although the indicator has not entered bullish territory yet, it leaves room for additional gains if buying demand increases.

Key Support Levels Remain Important

While the outlook has improved, Zcash still needs to defend important support levels. The first major support remains near the 200-day EMA around $380. Additional support sits near the 50% Fibonacci retracement level at $356.

If sellers push the price below both levels, ZEC could extend its decline toward the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level around $251, where longer-term buyers may attempt to regain control.

Zcash Price Outlook

Zcash has regained attention after a stronger week supported by rising trading volume and increasing futures activity. The growing number of leveraged positions suggests traders expect a larger move in the coming sessions.

However, the recovery remains incomplete until ZEC breaks above the 50-day EMA near $451. A move above that resistance would strengthen the bullish outlook and increase the chances of a rally toward $520. Until then, traders will continue watching whether buyers can maintain support above the $400 region.
