- Cardano (ADA) is trading at levels last seen before its 2021 bull run, sparking comparisons to its explosive 751% surge that year.
- Analysts point to bullish technical patterns, including an inverse head-and-shoulders and broadening wedge setup.
- Breakouts above the $1.20 neckline could push ADA toward $2.00, with potential to retest or even surpass its all-time high of $3.10.
- Some analysts see ADA reaching $5–$10 this cycle, depending on broader crypto market trends and Bitcoin’s peak.
- Ethereum and Bitcoin dominance shifts are being closely watched as catalysts for a major altcoin rally.
Cardano Returns to Pre-Surge Levels
Cardano (ADA) is back to the same price levels it traded at before its massive 751% rally in 2021, leading analysts to suggest that history may be preparing to repeat itself. Prominent analyst Dan Gambardello noted that Cardano’s current distance from its all-time high mirrors the setup seen when Ethereum (ETH) first broke new records in early 2021.
At that time, Ethereum surged to fresh highs while Cardano traded at $0.38—roughly 240% below its prior peak. Within months, ADA skyrocketed to a new record of $3.10 by September 2021.
Today, Cardano is priced at $0.8831, marking a 2.5% drop in the past day and a 3.9% decline over the past week, though it still shows a 7.1% monthly gain.
Technical Patterns Signal Potential Breakout
From a technical perspective, Gambardello highlights that Cardano is forming an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern, widely seen as a bullish setup. A confirmed breakout above the $1.20 neckline could push ADA toward $2.00, potentially setting the stage for a retest of its all-time high.

Additionally, ADA is moving within a broadening wedge structure, marked by higher highs and higher lows. This pattern often precedes accelerated price moves, especially if resistance levels are cleared.
Despite recent pullbacks, ADA has already gained over 300% from its bear market lows, and at one point rallied nearly 500%. While Ethereum’s pace of growth has been stronger, analysts believe Cardano’s time could be near.
How High Could Cardano Surge?
In a separate analysis, Alex Clay suggested that Cardano is currently in a “re-accumulation” phase, much like its 2019–2021 setup. His chart places ADA below the macro mid-zone resistance of $1.00–$1.20, with a major supply zone at $2–$3.
If ADA clears these levels, Clay predicts a run toward $5 or higher, a 450%+ surge from current prices. His outlook aligns with a three-step playbook: accumulation, re-accumulation, and rally.

Gambardello has also shared bullish targets, seeing $1.25 as a key threshold. If broken, ADA could climb to $2.00 and beyond, with longer-term potential of $7.5–$10.02 this cycle—depending on Bitcoin’s peak and broader market dynamics.
Bitcoin Dominance and Altcoin Rally Setup
Beyond Cardano, Gambardello pointed to Bitcoin dominance nearing a close below its 20-month moving average, a signal that last preceded a powerful altcoin season in 2021. If history repeats, ADA could emerge as one of the top beneficiaries, alongside Ethereum and other major altcoins.
Cardano may be trading below $1, but its price structure, historical parallels, and bullish technical patterns are giving analysts confidence in a potential repeat of the 2021 rally. If ADA can clear key resistance levels, the next few months could prove decisive in determining whether it retests its $3.10 peak—or even makes a historic run toward $5–$10.
