- Cardano (ADA) shows bullish potential as a golden cross forms while key support at $0.85-$0.87 holds.
- Technical and fundamental developments, including Openbank integration, could drive ADA toward $1 if buyers maintain control.
Cardano (ADA) is at a pivotal moment, trading at $0.876 at press time amid mixed signals that have traders divided on its next move. Recent price action saw a 7% dip over two days, despite a strong daily volume of $1.28 billion. The cryptocurrency’s ability to maintain its key support zone between $0.85 and $0.87 could determine whether it resumes an upward trajectory.

Technical Patterns Signal Potential Breakthrough
Cardano recently reclaimed its descending trendline after several failed attempts, positioning the asset for a potential recovery. More importantly, a golden cross has appeared on the daily chart, with the 50-day moving average crossing above the 200-day moving average—a classic bullish indicator suggesting a shift from downtrend to potential uptrend.
Short-term resistance at $0.8843 needs to be reclaimed for buyers to target $0.9018 and $0.9234, while a break above $0.97 could trigger a short squeeze, affecting over $90 million in vulnerable short positions. On-chain metrics, however, show that investor profit-taking is currently limiting ADA’s recovery.
Critical Support Holds the Key
The $0.85-$0.87 range has acted as a crucial battleground, maintaining ADA’s higher low formation despite selling pressure. Should ADA lose the $0.8528 support, lower targets emerge at $0.8264 and $0.8033. Conversely, holding above this zone sets the stage for a potential push toward $1 and possibly beyond.
Traders remain cautious, with the Relative Strength Index at 44, leaving room for further downside if bearish sentiment intensifies. Aggressive traders may consider shorts below $0.8528, while conservative buyers might wait for a confirmed breakout above $0.90 before entering long positions.
Fundamental Strength Adds Confidence
Cardano’s fundamentals continue to support a bullish outlook. Openbank, part of Santander and Europe’s largest digital bank, recently integrated Cardano, giving 2 million customers access to the network. This move bolsters institutional adoption, adding a longer-term bullish catalyst.
However, net outflows of $6.7 million from exchanges on September 17 highlight investor caution. Until inflows rise, ADA may drift sideways before any meaningful rally.
Cardano’s technical setup, combined with strategic fundamentals, indicates potential upside if buyers maintain control above critical support. With key resistance levels in sight and bullish patterns forming, ADA could be poised to retest the psychological $1 mark in the near term.
