- Cardano gained strength after breaking key resistance levels as whales accumulated 240 million ADA, boosting bullish sentiment.
- ADA now targets the $0.20 level, but maintaining support above $0.1812 will be crucial for further gains.
Cardano (ADA) is showing renewed strength after breaking above key resistance levels, supported by heavy whale accumulation and improving market sentiment. The latest rally has pushed ADA closer to the $0.20 target as buyers attempt to sustain the breakout.
Cardano Breaks Above Key Resistance
Cardano price gained 8.74% in the past 24 hours after moving above a multi-week consolidation range. The rally followed a strong recovery from the $0.1531 support zone, where buyers stepped in and built a stronger base.
ADA first reclaimed the $0.1750 mid-range level before breaking above the important $0.1812 resistance. At press time, Cardano was trading near $0.1860, marking a significant recovery from its late-July lows.
The breakout was also supported by higher trading activity. The move above resistance came with a volume increase of 3.49 million ADA, suggesting that buyers were actively supporting the price rise.
If ADA continues holding above $0.1812, the next major target remains the $0.2000 resistance level. However, a drop below this support could trigger a short-term pullback before another attempt higher.
Whales Add 240 Million ADA as Buying Interest Returns
Large Cardano holders have played a major role in the recent recovery. Data from Santiment shows whales accumulated more than 240 million ADA over the past five days.
Following the accumulation, ADA recorded a 22% price increase as investor confidence improved. The increased whale activity suggests that major holders are positioning themselves ahead of a possible continuation of the rally.
The derivatives market has also reflected stronger demand. Futures trading volume jumped 61.06% to $639.62 million, while open interest increased 13.91% to $485.58 million.
The rise in futures activity indicates that traders are opening new positions as expectations for further gains increase. Additionally, short liquidations continued to exceed long liquidations, meaning bearish traders were caught off guard by the breakout.
Altcoin Market Recovery Supports ADA Rally
Cardano’s recovery is also benefiting from broader strength across the altcoin market. The Altcoin Season Index increased 5.77% to 55, moving above the neutral level of 50.
This shows that some capital is rotating from Bitcoin into altcoins as investors look for higher growth opportunities. The total altcoin market capitalization also stabilized near $900 billion after recovering from recent lows.
However, the Altcoin Season Index remains below the 75 level typically associated with a strong altcoin season. More market participation may be needed before a wider altcoin rally becomes fully established.
Can Cardano Reach $0.20?
Cardano’s recent breakout has improved its short-term outlook, but maintaining support will be crucial. Holding above $0.1812 could give ADA enough strength to challenge the $0.20 resistance level.
Continued whale accumulation, stronger derivatives activity, and improving altcoin sentiment could support further gains. However, traders will watch closely for signs of weakening demand after the rapid price increase.
For now, Cardano’s 240 million ADA whale accumulation has strengthened bullish expectations, but ADA must prove it can defend its breakout zone before targeting higher levels.
