- Ethereum price topped $1,900 as optimism around the Hegotá upgrade and stronger buying lifted ETH.
- The $1,910 resistance remains key, while $1,900 now serves as important support.
Ethereum price climbed above $1,900 on Monday as optimism around the upcoming Hegotá upgrade lifted investor confidence. ETH gained 1.5% to $1,903.77, outperforming the broader crypto market, which rose 0.81%.
The latest move also came as Ethereum broke above a key technical level. Rising trading activity added strength to the breakout, although the move still faces resistance near $1,910.
Hegotá Upgrade Boosts Ethereum Outlook
Ethereum developers are currently narrowing down 66 proposals for the Hegotá upgrade, which is planned for 2027. The development has shifted attention toward Ethereum’s long-term network growth.
The launch of Ethlabs has also added to the positive outlook. The independent nonprofit was founded by five former senior Ethereum Foundation researchers.
Ethereum co-founder Joe Lubin, along with BitMine and SharpLink, backed the initiative. Ethlabs will focus on Ethereum’s finality, scalability and protocol economics. Its work will target the needs of large institutions seeking greater blockchain infrastructure.
This focus has strengthened the view that Ethereum is moving toward broader institutional adoption.
Ethereum Price Faces $1,910 Resistance
Ethereum price recently broke above the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level at $1,900. The level now becomes an important area for buyers to defend.
The August 16 swing high at $1,910 remains the next major resistance. A break above this level could give ETH room to extend its recovery. The 38.2% Fibonacci level near $1,894 could also become a key support zone if ETH pulls back.
Trading volume rose 81.68%, confirming stronger market activity around the move. However, the increase does not point to another major catalyst behind the rally.
Instead, technical buying appears to have played a major role after ETH moved above $1,900.
Developer Meeting Could Shape the Next Move
The next Ethereum All Core Developers Execution call is scheduled for August 18 at 2 PM UTC. Discussions around the Hegotá upgrade could influence market sentiment.
A constructive outcome could support ETH if the price remains above $1,900. In that case, Ethereum could retest $1,910 and potentially push higher.
However, losing $1,900 would weaken the short-term setup. If Bitcoin also declines, ETH could fall toward the $1,867 24-hour low.
Ethereum’s current outlook remains cautiously bullish. The Hegotá upgrade provides a longer-term growth narrative, while the latest technical breakout supports near-term buyers.
Still, short-term overbought readings suggest Ethereum may need some consolidation before making another major move.
