- Ethereum hits $180 billion in stablecoins as institutions and tokenized assets boost its on-chain dominance.
- It leads the market in stablecoins and tokenized financial products across all networks.
Ethereum’s on-chain value of stablecoins hit an all-time high of $180 billion, according to blockchain analytics firm Token Terminal. This growth highlights Ethereum’s continued dominance in stablecoins and tokenized real-world assets (RWAs).
Ethereum Leads Stablecoin Growth Across Networks
Ethereum now holds 60% of the total stablecoin supply, marking a 150% increase over the past three years. Across all blockchain networks, stablecoin supply reached a record $315 billion in the 1st quarter. This emphasizes Ethereum’s role as the industry leader. Layer-2 networks such as Arbitrum, ZKSync Era, and Base increase Ethereum’s market share to over 65%.
Analysts project significant on-chain growth over the next four years. Token Terminal estimates that $1.7 trillion could flow onchain across all networks by 2030, with Ethereum potentially receiving $850 billion in new inflows if it grows 470% during this period.
Institutional Adoption Drives Positive Sentiment
Major financial institutions are increasingly turning to Ethereum for tokenized funds. BlackRock, JPMorgan, and Amundi have launched tokenized products on the network, reinforcing Ethereum’s dominance. Real-world asset metrics provider RWA.xyz reports a slightly lower stablecoin value on Ethereum of $168 billion but confirms Ethereum’s market leadership.
Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, explained that Ethereum’s stablecoin and liquidity dominance “fuels strong positive sentiment and supports a long-term bull cycle driven by tokenized assets and institutional adoption.” He cautioned that competition from rival chains, regulatory hurdles, and macroeconomic volatility remain potential obstacles to further growth.
JPMorgan CEO Highlights Blockchain Competitors
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon recently noted that a “whole new set of competitors is emerging based on blockchain,” including stablecoins, smart contracts, and tokenized assets. The bank launched its first tokenized money market fund (MONY) on Ethereum last December, signaling strong institutional support for the network.
Etherealize, an Ethereum infrastructure startup, remarked, “The world’s largest bank is live on Ethereum, and its CEO publicly acknowledges that progress could be faster.”
The Future of Ethereum and Stablecoins
Ethereum’s stablecoin market is growing rapidly as institutional adoption expands. The network continues to lead as a hub for tokenized assets. Experts predict stablecoins will increasingly draw capital away from traditional banks. Tokenized financial products are expected to reshape the global financial landscape over the next few years. This growth reinforces Ethereum’s dominance in on-chain liquidity and strengthens its role in digital finance innovation.
