Galaxy Digital Launches Solana Staking With Zero Fees and Up to 6.5% Yield

  • Galaxy Digital has launched Solana staking on its GalaxyOne platform, offering up to 6.5% yield with zero fees until 2025.
  • The move increases competition with Coinbase and Robinhood as staking demand remains steady despite Solana’s price drop.

Galaxy Digital has introduced a new staking feature for Solana on its GalaxyOne platform. The move opens access to both retail and institutional users, offering a simple way to earn yield on SOL holdings.

The rollout comes at a time when staking is becoming a core feature across major crypto platforms. Galaxy appears focused on attracting users early by removing fees and leveraging its existing infrastructure.

Galaxy Expands Into Retail Staking With Attractive Incentives

Galaxy Digital has added Solana staking to its GalaxyOne platform, allowing users to earn up to 6.5% in annual rewards. The yield remains variable, as it depends on validator performance, network conditions, and overall participation.

To encourage adoption, the firm has waived staking commissions until the end of 2025. This approach lowers the barrier for new users and signals a focus on growth before revenue generation.

Galaxy’s institutional-grade validator infrastructure powers the staking service. This means retail users now gain access to the same systems previously reserved for large clients.

Competition Intensifies Among Major Crypto Platforms

With this launch, Galaxy moves closer to competitors like Coinbase and Robinhood, which already offer integrated staking services.

As staking becomes standard, platforms are competing on user experience, fees, and accessibility. Zero-fee staking could give Galaxy an early advantage in attracting new participants.

On the institutional side, Galaxy continues to offer tailored staking solutions. Clients such as hedge funds and family offices can earn rewards without managing their own validators. The company handles delegation, performance, and security, while fees are deducted from rewards rather than charged upfront.

Solana Staking Holds Strong Despite Price Decline

Solana has seen a sharp price correction, falling about 67% from its September 2024 high near $250. Despite this drop, staking activity has remained stable.

Market participants are increasingly viewing Solana as a yield-generating asset instead of a short-term trade. This shift reflects a broader trend toward passive income strategies within crypto.

Recent developments, including the launch of Solana-focused exchange-traded funds, have also supported interest. Some of these products use liquid staking strategies, giving investors exposure to both price movement and on-chain rewards.

A Strategic Push Into a Growing Market

Galaxy’s expansion into staking reflects a wider industry shift. More platforms are integrating yield services to retain users and increase engagement.

By combining zero fees, existing infrastructure, and access for both retail and institutional clients, Galaxy is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the staking space.

If adoption continues to grow, staking could become one of the most important features driving user activity across crypto platforms.
