Kraken to Delist 21 Cryptocurrencies on September 11

  • Kraken will delist 21 cryptocurrencies on September 11, with withdrawals remaining open until December 10, 2026.
  • Users holding the affected assets should withdraw or trade them before the deadlines to avoid automatic liquidation.

Kraken is preparing to delist 21 cryptocurrencies from its platform, giving affected users only a limited time to trade or deposit the assets before those services are disabled.

The exchange announced the scheduled delistings on August 27, with trading and deposits set to end on September 11, 2026. Users who hold any of the affected assets will still have time to withdraw them after trading ends.

However, Kraken has warned that users who leave their assets on the platform beyond the final withdrawal deadline could receive significantly less value when their balances are liquidated.

Which Cryptocurrencies Is Kraken Delisting?

Kraken is removing 21 assets as part of its latest scheduled delisting cycle.

The affected cryptocurrencies are XTER, IR, GAIA, SCA, VANRY, BNC, SBR, RBC, MIR, JUNO, HDX, ACA, MULTI, RIZE, EPT, MAT, CQT, CXT, BKS, VULT and M.

Kraken says several of these assets have limited or inactive markets. This means their liquidity can be low, which could affect the amount users receive if their balances are eventually liquidated.

The exchange has not suggested that all 21 assets have the same issue. Instead, the delisting applies to the assets included in its August 2026 scheduled delisting notice.

Kraken Trading Deadline Is September 11

The first key deadline for users is September 11, 2026.

Kraken will suspend deposits and trading for all 21 affected cryptocurrencies at 14:00 UTC on that date. After the deadline, users will no longer be able to buy, sell or deposit the affected assets through the exchange.

However, users will not immediately lose access to their existing holdings. Kraken will continue to support withdrawals until 15:00 UTC on December 10, 2026.

Users who want to keep their assets should withdraw them before the December deadline. This gives holders more than two months after trading ends to move their funds to a supported wallet or another platform.

What Happens to Crypto Left on Kraken?

Users who still hold any of the affected cryptocurrencies after the December 10 withdrawal deadline will face automatic liquidation.

Kraken says it will begin liquidating the remaining balances between December 14 and December 18, 2026. This means users will no longer be able to withdraw the affected assets after the final deadline.

Kraken has also warned that the liquidation value may be significantly lower than recent reference prices. Low liquidity could make it difficult to sell some assets at favorable prices, while certain balances may have little or no value when liquidated.

For users who want to keep their cryptocurrencies, the safest option is to withdraw them before 15:00 UTC on December 10. This gives them control over where the assets are held instead of leaving the exchange to liquidate them.

Why Is Kraken Delisting These Cryptocurrencies?

Kraken regularly reviews the cryptocurrencies available on its platform before deciding whether to continue supporting them.

The exchange has not provided a separate explanation for each of the 21 cryptocurrencies in its latest delisting notice. However, Kraken’s review process can consider factors such as market activity, liquidity and regulatory or compliance requirements.

Limited trading activity can be especially important for smaller cryptocurrencies. When an asset has low liquidity, users may find it harder to buy or sell larger amounts without affecting the market price.

Being removed from a major exchange can also reduce the number of places where an asset can be traded. This could make it more difficult for holders to access liquidity, particularly if other exchanges also have limited support for the asset.

The delisting does not automatically mean that every affected cryptocurrency has become worthless. However, it does reduce access to Kraken’s trading platform and makes the upcoming deadlines important for existing holders.

What Should Kraken Users Do?

Users holding any of the 21 affected assets should first check whether their cryptocurrency appears on Kraken’s official delisting list. If they want to continue holding the Crypto, Kraken recommends withdrawing it before December 10 at 15:00 UTC.

Users should also check whether the destination wallet or another exchange supports the specific cryptocurrency before transferring funds.

After September 11 at 14:00 UTC, trading and deposits will no longer be available on Kraken. This means users who want to sell their holdings through Kraken need to act before that deadline.

Those who simply want to keep their assets have more time because withdrawals remain available until December 10.

Kraken Delisting Adds Pressure to Smaller Cryptocurrencies

Kraken’s latest delisting highlights the risks of holding smaller cryptocurrencies with limited trading activity.

A cryptocurrency can remain available on one exchange while losing support on another. If more platforms remove the same cryptocurrency, traders may have fewer options for buying and selling it.

Exchange availability is therefore an important factor for investors to consider alongside price, trading volume and market capitalization.

The delisting also shows why users should pay attention to exchange announcements. Being removed from Kraken does not necessarily mean a cryptocurrency has become worthless. However, losing access to a major exchange can make trading and withdrawals more difficult.

For the 21 cryptocurrencies affected by Kraken’s decision, users have until September 11 to trade or deposit them on the platform. Withdrawals will remain available until December 10, giving holders time to move their funds before Kraken begins the liquidation process.
