  • Ondo Finance founder Nathan Allman has died at 32, the company confirmed.
  • He was a key figure in blockchain tokenization, and Ondo says it will continue his mission.

The crypto industry is mourning the loss of Nathan Allman, founder and CEO of Ondo Finance, who has died unexpectedly at the age of 32.

Ondo Finance confirmed the news in a public statement, describing Allman as a visionary leader whose work helped shape the company and the broader blockchain industry. The company did not provide additional details regarding his death, while his family requested privacy during this period.

Allman played a major role in bringing blockchain-based financial products closer to mainstream adoption. His work in tokenizing real-world assets placed Ondo Finance among the leading names in the growing sector.

Nathan Allman Helped Build Ondo Finance Into a Tokenization Leader

Nathan Allman founded Ondo Finance in 2021 with a focus on making financial markets more accessible through blockchain technology.

Under his leadership, Ondo expanded its presence in tokenized real-world assets, helping move billions of dollars worth of traditional financial products onto blockchain networks. These included US Treasuries, stocks, and commodities.

The company’s approach attracted significant attention as blockchain tokenization gained wider acceptance across financial markets. Thousands of investors now hold tokenized assets issued through Ondo.

Ondo Finance described Allman as a leader whose intelligence, determination, and vision shaped every stage of the company’s development.

The firm said his belief in technology creating a more open financial system remains part of Ondo’s long-term mission.

Wall Street Experience Shaped His Blockchain Vision

Before launching Ondo Finance, Allman built experience in traditional finance and digital assets. He previously worked within Goldman Sachs’ digital asset division, where he gained exposure to emerging blockchain technologies and institutional finance.

Earlier in his career, he founded ChainStreet Capital, a crypto hedge fund focused on algorithmic and event-driven trading strategies. That background gave him a strong understanding of both traditional finance and digital markets, helping him position Ondo Finance within the growing tokenization movement.

The sector has continued attracting major financial institutions looking at blockchain infrastructure as a way to improve settlement systems and trading efficiency.

Ondo Finance Leadership Plans Continue Forward

Following Allman’s passing, Ondo Finance confirmed that company president Ian De Bode will take over as CEO. Company leadership emphasized that Ondo’s mission remains unchanged.

De Bode shared that Allman was not only a founder and industry innovator but also a close friend whose absence will be deeply felt. Other company executives also paid tribute to Allman, describing him as a rare founder whose ideas helped influence the future direction of blockchain finance.

While the loss marks a difficult chapter for Ondo Finance, company leaders said they remain committed to continuing the work Allman started. His contribution to blockchain tokenization and digital finance leaves a legacy that will continue shaping the industry for years to come.
