- Pi Network has recovered following the Protocol v25 upgrade, but token unlocks and resistance at $0.10 remain key challenges.
- Technical indicators are improving, while wallet security concerns persist.
Pi Network (PI) has recovered from its recent all-time low after the launch of Protocol v25, but PI still faces several challenges. While the latest network upgrade has strengthened the blockchain’s technical foundation, a large number of upcoming token unlocks and resistance at $0.10 continue to limit the recovery.
At the time of writing, PI traded at $0.09119, down 1.9% over the past 24 hours but up 10.7% over the last seven days. The recent rebound has improved market sentiment, although traders remain cautious about the next move.
Protocol v25 Improves Pi Network
Protocol v25 is one of Pi Network’s biggest technical updates this year. The upgrade introduces changes aimed at improving network stability, privacy, and support for decentralized application (dApp) developers.
One of the main additions is support for BN254 cryptography and Poseidon hashing, technologies commonly used in privacy-focused applications and zero-knowledge proof systems. The update also includes several efficiency improvements designed to support the network as it continues to expand.
The release of Protocol v25 helped PI recover nearly 30% from its all-time low of $0.07059, recorded on July 14. However, the recovery has slowed as the token approaches the important $0.10 resistance level.
Pi Network Price Faces Key Resistance
The $0.10 level remains the biggest hurdle for PI. Previous recovery attempts have failed to establish a sustained move above this price, making it a critical level for bulls.
If buyers push above $0.10, the next resistance levels are around $0.12, followed by $0.135 and $0.15.
A successful breakout above these levels could strengthen bullish sentiment. However, failure to clear $0.10 may keep the token trading within its recent range.
Token Unlocks Could Limit the Recovery
Despite the positive impact of Protocol v25, supply remains a major concern.
Around 127.5 million PI tokens are scheduled to unlock over the next 30 days. That equals an average of roughly 4.25 million PI tokens per day entering circulation.
Each unlock increases the number of tokens available for sale. Unless buying demand continues to grow, the additional supply could slow the recovery or trigger fresh selling pressure.
This remains one of the biggest reasons many traders are waiting for stronger confirmation before turning bullish on PI.
Technical Indicators Show Improving Momentum
Several technical indicators suggest selling pressure has eased since PI reached its July low.
The RSI has recovered toward neutral territory after previously approaching oversold conditions. This shows that bearish pressure has weakened, although it does not yet confirm a new uptrend. The MACD still reflects lingering bearish momentum, indicating buyers need stronger follow-through.
Meanwhile, the Aroon Up indicator has strengthened while Aroon Down has weakened, suggesting buyers have regained some control. The Chaikin Money Flow (CMF) has also turned positive, pointing to improving capital inflows.
In addition, the Average Directional Index (ADX) remains elevated, showing that the current market trend is relatively strong even though its long-term direction has not been confirmed.
Overall, technical indicators show improving conditions, but a sustained move above $0.10 would provide stronger confirmation.
Wallet Security Remains in Focus
Pi Network users are also watching wallet security after community reports of missing balances following token migration.
One Pioneer claimed that after a three-year lockup expired, an attempted migration of 143 PI resulted in a wallet showing a zero balance and multiple failed transactions.
There is no evidence that the incident reflects a network-wide problem or a flaw in Protocol v25. However, the report has renewed calls for stronger wallet protection, including mandatory two-factor authentication.
Pi Network has continued to warn users against phishing attacks, unofficial wallet applications, and anyone requesting recovery phrases or private keys. As interest in PI grows following Protocol v25, security remains an important issue for users.
Can Protocol v25 Drive a Stronger Recovery?
Protocol v25 has strengthened Pi Network’s technology and helped the token recover from its recent lows. However, the market still faces major obstacles.
The combination of heavy token unlocks, resistance at $0.10, and ongoing security concerns means buyers will likely need stronger demand to extend the recovery. For now, whether PI can break above key resistance may determine its next major price move.
