- Pi Network has updated its developer tools, token tracking, AI-assisted app publishing and identity verification.
- The changes aim to expand ecosystem utility and adoption.
Pi Network has introduced four updates covering developer tools, token tracking, AI-assisted app publishing and identity verification. The changes aim to simplify app development, improve visibility into ecosystem tokens and expand Pi’s use across third-party platforms.
The latest improvements affect the Pi Developer Portal, Pi BlockExplorer, SoloHost and PiVerify. Together, they support Pi Network’s efforts to expand its ecosystem and make more applications and services available to Pioneers.
Pi Network Improves Developer Portal Interface
Pi Network has redesigned its Developer Portal to make application setup and management easier. The update replaces the previous onboarding checklist with a dedicated App Configuration section.
Developers can now manage key settings, including domains, API keys, app wallets and privacy information, from one place. The portal also provides clearer access to Pi Sign-In, Ecosystem Listing, PiNet and the Pi Ad Network.
These changes simplify the process of integrating Pi features into applications. Developers can configure their apps, prepare them for launch and manage essential settings through a more organised interface.
The update builds on Pi Network’s broader efforts to improve its developer tools and documentation. By reducing the technical hurdles involved in building applications, the network aims to encourage more developers to create services that offer practical uses for Pi.
Pi BlockExplorer Adds Launchpad Token Price Tracking
Pi BlockExplorer has introduced historical price tracking for Launchpad Testnet tokens, allowing users to monitor token price changes relative to Test-Pi over time.
The feature currently covers tokens launched on the Testnet, including SLICE. Users can view token prices and their historical movements without opening the Pi Browser or logging into a Pi account.
Pi Network plans to extend this functionality to Mainnet tokens in the future. However, the current Launchpad tokens covered by this feature exist only on the Testnet and will not migrate to Mainnet.
The update builds on Pi Launchpad’s existing price charts and liquidity pool features. Under the Launchpad model, projects can use ecosystem tokens to provide utility within their applications, including access to services, payments and rewards.
When users purchase these tokens, the Pi proceeds go into a liquidity pool paired with the ecosystem token rather than directly to the issuing project. This approach is designed to establish liquidity from the start.
By making token prices and historical data more accessible, Pi BlockExplorer gives Pioneers greater visibility into how Launchpad tokens behave. It also helps users understand the relationship between token prices and liquidity pools as Pi Network continues refining its token launch model.
Pi Network Introduces AI-Assisted SoloHost App Packaging
Pi Network has added an AI-assisted packaging tool to SoloHost, making it easier for developers to prepare applications for publication through Pi Desktop.
Previously, developers had to create and configure the required files manually. The new tool allows them to use compatible AI coding assistants, including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, to automate much of this work.
Developers can provide an existing application’s public Docker image to a supported AI assistant. The assistant then asks which capabilities the application should offer before generating and validating two configuration files: docker-compose.yml and config_options.yml.
Once the files are ready, developers can use them to submit their applications for publication through SoloHost.
The update reduces the technical work required to package existing applications, potentially making it easier for more developers to bring their software to Pi Desktop.
SoloHost also gives developers a way to distribute self-hosted applications across Pi Network’s existing infrastructure of more than 420,000 Nodes. This could expand the range of applications available to Pioneers who want to run software on their own computers.
PiVerify Expands Identity Verification Services
Pi Network is also expanding PiVerify, its identity verification service for third-party businesses. The latest improvements introduce face uniqueness checks and multiple liveness checks, building on verification capabilities already used in Pi’s Know Your Customer (KYC) system.
Face uniqueness checks help businesses identify potentially duplicated identities among their users. Multiple liveness checks allow businesses to request additional verification after a user has completed an initial identity check.
These features are designed to help businesses detect fake accounts, reduce fraud and distinguish real people from automated or fraudulent activity.
PiVerify extends Pi Network’s AI-assisted and human-powered verification infrastructure beyond its own ecosystem. The system draws on technology developed through the verification of millions of Pioneers.
Businesses can use these capabilities to strengthen their identity verification processes without relying solely on their own systems. In addition, third-party clients pay for PiVerify services in Pi, creating another potential use case for the cryptocurrency.
Expanding identity verification to external platforms could also help Pi Network extend its network of verified users beyond its own applications.
What the Latest Pi Network Updates Mean for the Ecosystem
The four updates target different areas of Pi Network’s development, but they share a common goal: making the ecosystem easier to build on and more useful to its users.
The redesigned Developer Portal simplifies application management, while historical token tracking gives users greater access to Launchpad data. AI-assisted SoloHost packaging reduces the work involved in publishing applications, and PiVerify expands identity verification services to third-party businesses.
These improvements could help developers introduce more applications and give Pioneers additional ways to use Pi-related services.
However, the updates do not guarantee increased demand for Pi or a rise in its market price. Their long-term impact will depend on developer adoption, the number of useful applications launched and whether businesses and users adopt the services.
For now, Pi Network is continuing to develop the technical infrastructure needed to support a broader ecosystem of applications, token-based services and identity verification tools.
