Pi Network will update its App Studio pricing on August 24, 2026. The new model will raise creation and editing costs for some creators while keeping subsidized rates for apps that attract real users.
Until now, creators paid 0.25 Pi to create an app and another 0.25 Pi to edit one. Pi Network covered much of the actual cost of the AI services used by App Studio.
The network now plans to adjust pricing based on data gathered since App Studio launched. The change aims to direct more resources toward apps that provide real utility and attract users.
Pi App Studio Pricing Changes on August 24
Starting August 24, App Studio will introduce a standard pricing model that more closely reflects the cost of its AI services. The exact price may vary based on the resources needed to create or edit an app. Pi Network says it will not add a markup to the underlying AI service costs.
However, not every creator will pay the new standard rate. Creators whose apps attract enough real users can continue receiving the previous subsidized pricing.
Pi will assess eligibility based on actual app usage. Activity from the creator alone will not count toward the qualification.
Real Users Will Determine Subsidized Pricing
The new model places greater importance on app utility and user adoption. Creators will have an incentive to build apps that solve problems and provide value to Pioneers.
