Revolut Launches Dogecoin Debit Card Across UK and EU Markets

  • Revolut has launched a Dogecoin debit card in the UK and EU for crypto spending.
  • It reflects the growing use of crypto in everyday payments.

Revolut has taken another step in bringing crypto into everyday spending. The company has introduced a Dogecoin-themed physical debit card for users in the United Kingdom and the European Union. The move strengthens its push to merge digital assets with traditional banking.

Dogecoin Card Brings Crypto to Everyday Payments

The new card is linked to Dogecoin and allows users to spend their crypto holdings in real-world transactions. It works anywhere Visa and Mastercard are accepted, giving users wide access across global merchants.

The rollout currently covers the UK and EU markets, but excludes Hungary, Switzerland, and Portugal.

The design also reflects the growing popularity of Dogecoin in mainstream finance. What started as a meme coin now continues to find use in payment systems and fintech products.

No Extra Fees, But Exchange Rates Still Apply

Revolut confirmed that users will not pay additional exchange fees when using the card for purchases. However, crypto-to-fiat conversions will still depend on live exchange rates at the time of payment.

The company also warned that crypto spending may create tax obligations depending on local regulations. Users are advised to check the rules in their region before using the card frequently.

Crypto Payments Move Beyond Trading

The launch reflects a wider shift in the financial industry. Crypto is no longer limited to trading or long-term holding. It is increasingly being integrated into daily payment systems.

Other companies, such as Coinbase and Crypto.com, have also rolled out similar debit card products. These cards allow users to spend digital assets directly without manual conversions. This trend shows a growing push to make crypto more practical for everyday use.

Revolut Expands Its Crypto Ecosystem

Revolut has steadily expanded its crypto services over the past year. In 2025, the company integrated Polygon into its platform. This allowed users to send remittances, stake POL tokens, and make crypto-based card payments within the app.

The company has also expanded beyond crypto. Earlier this year, it received approval to launch a fully licensed bank in the United Kingdom. It continues to pursue banking licences in other regions as it builds a broader financial ecosystem.

A Step Toward Mainstream Crypto Spending

The Dogecoin card highlights how fintech firms are blending traditional banking with blockchain technology. Instead of keeping crypto in trading apps, companies are pushing it into real-world spending tools.

As adoption grows, crypto-linked cards may become a common part of digital banking in Europe and beyond.
